So, got the two track days in finally last week. I started with the following for tires: OEM 225 x 40 Mich. PS4 on the front, slightly stretched on an 8.5 inch wide rim. 5.5 k miles on them. Rear, 275 x 35 Mich. PS4S, on a 19 x 9.5 rim. Brand new condition, like maybe a few hundred miles on them. Track days were four - 30 minute sessions at VIR, back to back days, so 8 sessions total. I can say the all tires held up extremely well. I would guess another 2 track days possible on the fronts and another 4 track days on the rear easily. I will also say the car did understeer some, in part because of the slightly inferior front tires, and probably the front tire width. I can also say, I babied the brakes and the throttle too much, my instructor was always asking for more throttle. I probably drove the car to 80-85% of max capability just because of my inexperience, which resulted in the tires not getting beat to hell. It was an incredible experience and I look forward to doing it again. The Michelin Tires are the absolute best according to my instructor. If you can afford them, get them!!! also, will be figuring out a track day brake pad and upgrading the brake fluid. Shout out to Ken at KNS Brakes in Cary, NC for helping me with that setup.
