So thought I would provide an update. Last night I bit the bullet and purchased my Stinger. Aurora Black with Red interior. Tomorrow she gets her windows tinted. I will post pictures tomorrow night. The whole entire process felt fair and easy. I dealt with Amanda Siefkes of Carriage KIA of Woodstock, GA.
Do it ,just over a month here and I love the car and the looks it gets I had to travel about a hour away to get my gt2 awd. My hometown dealer sucks and went to one that had 17 on the lot so I got what I wanted. Great people went in to hand the title of my trade in met the owner of the dealership and got invited to the stinger experience in Chicago.
Hey guys - I really appreciate everyone’s input, that’s just it, I did test drive a GT2 RWD and the experience was unbelievable. This is why I started researching. At this price point you want to get a well engineered vehicle. I plan to make my decision on or before 3/15. I will repost if I end up buying one
If you're into drifting the GT 2 RWD , is the way to go. But you might want to try out the GT 2 AWD
Sticks to the road like glue and I felt that it handled better. I've had three Optimus and a 2015 Genesis and now the stinger GT2 AWD . Kia Hyundai 10 years 100,000 mile warranty drivetrain, for a few extra bucks you could get the bumper-to-bumper warranty or I think they call it the full wrap . One thing is for sure you want to find a dealership with a good Service writer I found one in elk Grove California with a great service writer . Good luck do your homework check out the buy or lease discussions .
Yes you can apply it yourself. I had mine installed. Check out the Forums detailing section. And if you decide to try it yourself there are lots of youtube videos our there.
It looks like this when done
The reason you hear about so many issues is because 99.9999% of people don't go around asking "hey everything is totally normal with my car, should i be experiencing this?"
People ask questions when there is something wrong and they want to get an answer.

I chose not to buy one as the seat was a little grippy on my Hank Hill sized behind. Didn't feel uncomfortable in the car but I knew I might have issues on longer drives. Just a personal skeleton issue IMO.

Bummer, but totally understandable. It took me a while to realize that the "little" things one thinks they can overlook during the honeymoon phase become exponentially less "little" as time progresses...and not just cars, either!
Good on you for knowing yourself well enough to make that hard call. Cheers, and good luck with your search! Any other contenders in your sights?

Ended up special ordering an '18 BMW 230i, no moonroof, "luxury" seats. Wanted the M240i but couldn't get the options to line up.
Also test drove Lexus GS-F and RC-Fs, '17 Mazda 3, VW Golf GTI & R, Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG and '18 Mustang Ecoboost along the way. Honestly, I still pine for a Stinger as they just look absolutely gorgeous. The base Stinger GT was just missing some options I did really want but it's the only V6 trim without a moonroof. That and some worries about the seats longterm (I do at minimum 23k miles a year) just put me off, but again I know that it's a personal issue and 99% of other people won't notice. Also, BMW ended up being one of the only manufacturers where you can play with options/packages to get rid of moonroofs on a few of their models.
If I had to pick ONE reason it would be the radio delete while in reverse.......but not a deal killer.....annoying as all hell especially when a good tune is rockin'

In mine, its under sound settings (where audio settings are), under PRIORITY; it can be unchecked if you don't want the radio volume to lower when in reverse.
