I appreciate your efforts and had already a look at these sellers. It does now seem that one cannot contact a seller directly with a question anymore, such as on the availability of a certain color other than red?
It used to be that one could fire off a question to a seller on anything - shipping, payment, colors, etc. eBay seems to have taken that away. But I shall find a way...

You can ask the seller a question, you have to expand the sellers details

I got my answer in respect to other colors (other than red), which was positive, as I expected...

Sure will, but it won't be before next spring - it's getting too cold and I don't have a warm space to work in.

Yeah, I've seen the reports, the "heat" really got turned on, and it seems to happen on almost every continent now. Sad.
I'll try to make do with less...

I don’t think this would be a “bulb” as such, it may be like a small circuit type board with the led in it.

I've been doing some digging around and I found some info regarding the exterior door handle wiring. Hope it helps those out looking to do this mod. I got the info from kia-hotline, had to pay a fee but I did manage to save a bunch of pdfs from the shop manual.

Yeah there is a small circuit board inside the door handle, it has led bulb, switch, and an antenna apparently.

Swapping over the blank rears to smart rear handles yes. Running the wires from rear door to BCM inside the car not so easy.
