I have read many threads in here, including the sticky thread, about brake pads, rotors, the vibration while braking, etc, but none seem to quite fit what I'm looking for. It's time for me to replace my rear brake pads and I will probably do the rotors while I'm in there, as the car has 81k miles on it now. The thing is most of the posts that I have found and read through are people asking to upgrade their brake systems, and usually they have cars that are far beyond stock. My car is pretty much stock, so I don't need race brakes or anything super high performance, mine is just a daily driver that is fun to drive, not anything that ever sees a track or anything.
Having said that, my question is, what would you recommend for rear brake pads and rotors and where are you buying them from? I looked on Rock Auto, and they have some of the pads that I see referenced in the other threads (like the Z26), but they say "without Brembo brakes", which mine has. I'm not trying to buy the cheapest thing out there, I buy from the higher grade items all the time, I just don't want to spend a ton of extra money on brakes for race applications when my car does mostly highway driving.
Are slotted rotors worth the extra money for a car like mine also?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as my passenger side rear pad sounds like it's starting to get to the tabs. Thanks in advance, I have only had my car since March but it's a lot of fun to drive, and I have already learned a bunch from people in this group so I appreciate it!!
