3.3TT Quicksilver Exhaust Systems

I must have miss understood, I thought there were 2 new versions the supersport and the supersport+, with the supersport+ being the loudest. But this has been going on so long I have no idea anymore. I preordered on 4/30, cant remember that far back, lol. Havent heard a peep from them either, figured if I get to 2 months of no contact I might start reconsidering.

There are 2 versions. SS plus is after the ss.

Hi all,
This is my first post here (bought the car last fall). Does anyone know if this is a special preorder price and if the price will go up after preorder?
Also, any idea how close we are to the 20 preorders so that they start production—waiting to hear sound clip/any fitment issue before buying.

Thanks.

Unsure on pricing after the pre-order. As far as the number of needed pre-orders, they have the number needed and are starting production.

Should only be a few weeks til we have them in our hands. I paid my deposit before the preorder was available. Current state of the world has everything running behind, please be patient, and I know everyone will love it

I hope they will continue to honor that price even after originals are shipped out, but cannot guarantee that

Update on my QS purchase. I had the original set installed without the tips. The cold start was nice and low, but it was borderline too loud at low RPMs. After a couple weeks as it settled in, during WOT it almost sounded like a lawnmower and still had that deep bass with the low RPM's. I just got the tips installed. First drive home I could barely tell that there was a new exhaust on the car. Very mild but still had a bit of the bass. The pitch is still there, but it is certainly more subdued than it was prior to the tips. The lawnmower sound is gone as well, but so is some of the aggression. My preference would be for something in between. That said, very happy with the purchase and do prefer it with the tips than without. That drone was a killer, especially with the wife in the car.

May I ask you which tips install it? Thanks

I got the ones from aliexpress. 63mm oval. Fit like a glove.

Hmmm... I thought the correct oval fit was 60x105mm...?
I am an idiot. You are correct. They were the 60-105MM oval's that I ordered.

Yes I agree the tips are a nice addition and 60MM inlet is what I needed.

Stupid question, is there any reason for not to use the OEM tips? Thanks again

You can definitely keep the OEM tips with the MBRP Quicksilver system. [edit: whoops, wrong exhaust thread]

The OEM tips are fake and attached to the bumper.
This leaves a gap between the fake/decorative tip and the actual exhaust pipe where sound can bounce back underneath your car and cause more noise in the cabin.

Real tips direct the sound away from the car, making less in-cabin noise.

Could you post a picture of these? Do you get the 4 tips? I'd appreciate it.

Maybe, just maybe, the exhaust shop could weld an exhaust pipe extensions to the QS exhaust ones in order to fit the OEM..???

yes, but note that the inner diameter of the stock exhaust finishers is smaller than the pipes coming out of the QS exhaust. I'm starting to wonder if those metal plates on the stock exhaust pipes are more than just cosmetic.

I think welding a flat plate behind the stock tips (like the stock exhaust) would help.

Or fill the gap with header wrap like some folks are doing on the MBRP thread.
