Primary Cat Deletes

I gutted my secondary cats and no codes, over-boost or issues.

Did you just pull the pipes off and break them up with crowbar/screwdriver & a hammer?

Yes, and not that difficult to do. The secondary cats were more restrictive than I expected. Gives the exhaust a slightly deeper tone and I can definitely feel the nice little boost in power and quicker spool up. JunBl downpipes would have cost me north of $850 by the time I paid duties and taxes to get them across the border. To me this was the better option and believe the benefits and gains are close to the same.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
We have been busy in the shop the past month and we are trying to plug away at the Stinger as we can. Here is a mock up of our Primary cat deletes. We will be installing these along with our downpipes when they are finished to get some dyno and sound results.
Are you guys planning to do a video on primary cat uninstall? I loved your spark plug install video!

How many cats does the stinger have and I don't mean the fury kind?

Hey guys I had my secondary ( I believe secondary) cats uninstalled today along with the resonator and holy shit, it sounds terrible haha. When it’s up shifting and goes back down to like 2k RPM’s it has the stupidest sounding gurgle that sounds like a 4 cylinder civic with a giant muffler trying to sound cool. I’m so disappointed I’m going back tomorrow to get the resonator put back on. Should I leave the secondary cats off though? I only wanted a little bit more sound but not that much.

Resonators will usually help with the RASP you are experiencing, you should try just putting those back on first.

I went back this morning and had the stock resonator put back on. It’s much better. Still has a slight rasp at 2k that I’m not too fond of but I don’t really want to put the potatoes back in my exhaust and restrict airflow.
I guess if I wanted to be even quieter I’d have to get an aftermarket resonator.

the guy did a good weld job and I even looked under the car myself to be sure it was all sturdy and clamped back on right. This engine just doesn’t like being messed with lol

I want to get cat deletes but noticed I will have trouble accessing the bolts on the stock cats.
Can you please let us all know the best way to pull out these cats, it would be a huge help.
Thanks!
