Price breakdown (Kia Kirkland WA) looking for advice.

Rough crunching of the numbers I did, (may be errors) was the sale price:

44,808
-5500 (KMF Rebate)
+ 10.3% Tax
+150 (Doc Fee)
+ ~ 400-800 (Licensing)

Roughly 44K out the door. Does that sound right to you all, do you think this is a deal?
That's a bit of a subjective question. I say ask yourself if that amount is one you can swing and, more importantly, if it's one you think you can get elsewhere with better terms. When we bought ours, it wasn't even February and most models had markups over MSRP. The fact you can conceivably save over $7700 on the list price of a well received new model?

Depends - Color is also a factor on price believe it or not.
But Lee has a GT1 silver marked down $4,430 to $42,300 and also seeing black and red at this price. White marked down $3400.

Just a note about comparing what people are supposedly paying for their cars, I would take that with a big grain of salt. Unless people are posting up their sale contract as proof that is.

If you're patient and wait closer to the end of the month, the discount on the GT1 will probably get better if the car sits on the lot. I was watching the prices of the Panthera GT1's at various dealerships for a few weeks while I was making up my mind about picking one up.

If you're a Costco member, you can try the auto program and it'll send you down to Car Pros in Renton and you can see what the price is right now. A couple months ago, it was like 400 bucks under invoice. Might be better now.

Hi Angelo,

This specially priced 2018 Kia Stinger GT (K180742) has an MSRP of $47,035 and a Lee Johnson Discount of $2,227 bringing the sale price before incentives down to $44,808.

Your choice of incentives are as follows…

$2,000 KMF Bonus Cash and 3.9% for 60mo or 4.9% for 75mo OAC.

$5,500 KMF Singer GT1 36mo Lease Cash OAC. (This appears to be what your friend did and probably the best option for what you are trying to accomplish)

$0 and .9% for up to 75mo OAC.

Once you have chosen the incentive option that works best for you your only additional cost would be the 10.3% King County automobile sales tax, licensing of $400-$800 depending on your residence $399 secure guard and $150 documentation fee.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to schedule a visit to work out the final details and take delivery of your new Stinger.

How does this look? Im thinking the lease to own route, but I wonder what the taxes will be when you buyout the lease?

@Angelo In Seattle, most of your post appears to be text copied from an offer by Lee Johnson KIA. The first reference in it is to a GT, not a GT1. Hopefully that is a typo, and the car really is a GT1. In any event, be careful about what model you're actually negotiating for, and check closely to make sure that's what actually gets put onto your lease agreement.

Other than that, it's good to see that Lee Johnson is now offering a discount of $2,227 off MSRP, plus the lease cash. That appears to show some positive movement on their end from what you originally reported.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Yeah its a typo, the VIN and Window sticker match. It definitely is a GT1 and will double check on site tomorrow as well.

This looks like it's in the ballpark. However, it's somewhat apples and oranges, because to get the $5,500 lease cash you need to sign a lease agreement. The lease agreement won't show an out the door cost.

The lease agreement also brings other fees and charges into the picture. For example, there is a lease origination fee that the dealer may or may not be willing to waive. Some dealers also try to load various junk fees into the lease agreement.

If you're not familiar with the KMF lease agreement, I suggest taking a look at one before you find yourself in the finance manager's office with numerous pieces of paper coming at you to sign. Lots of money can get spent by being unprepared for that stage.

Congrats!

It has been my experience that the Origination fee is determined by Kia Finance/Leasing, not the dealer. You may be thinking about the Dealer fee?

Congratulations, man! Looks fantastic, including the color. That's Panthera Metal, right?

I see you got yours at Lee Johnson. They seem to be selling a lot of Stingers - wouldn't surprise me if they are one of the highest-volume Stinger dealers in the U.S.

How did all the paperwork go - any surprises?

I believe that you are correct about the lease origination fee being a KMF charge.

The lease option was about 5k more in the end, so went the purchase route. Got dealer cost plus a 2K rebate. Pretty happy with it, the only thing I didn’t realize (and I know my fault) was that it doesn’t have the drive wise package. But everything else is right on and the color is amazing. So yeah pretty happy
