• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Pictorial where did you go in your Stinger today

First day of meteorological winter: man, what weather! I saw 55F from my car. Wife and I hiked up around the mouth of Bell canyon. A fun adventure was getting her up on a large rock eight to ten feet high: the low point was overhung by the trunks of two sizeable scrub oak, so, it was just doable. :D It was our best hike of the year.

Prior to getting up there, running a couple of errands for her, the first being a stop at the library to drop off her returns: I sidled up really close to the drop box (how many of you are challenged by trying to reach mailboxes or drop boxes or drive-throughs at banks? I always find my long arm too short, and either have to lean out or even sometimes open the door and step out: I was trying to avoid this by getting really close to the library returns box), and heard that dreaded *scrunch*, and felt it too!? Damnation!!?? (said words I had to apologize for) Some maroon had placed the return box c. half a foot too far in, thus exposing the corner of the concrete stanchion at the end: it bit metal out of my rim and the end of one spoke: plus, it destroyed the sidewall of my tire at that point too, as you can see: good thing these tires are shot. So, the "Curbinator" scores aaagain, dammit. (In the pic, the touchup paint has already been applied: in my annoyance I didn't think to take a "before and after" set of pics.)
 :(

I pulled into a far end stall and got out my black touchup kits and filled in the damage as much as possible: also, I walked back over to that return box and manhandled it c. six inches closer to the driveway - hopefully thus sparing someone else a similar incident: you could tell from the black rubber on the corner that many tires have come a cropper on that stanchion.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ( from home quarantine ) !

XMAS STINGER.jpg

Just got home from Fiji so we're not going anywhere until our COVID test results come back.

Looks like the Stinger might get a bath today.

Hope you all have a great day !!

I did a quick search & couldn’t find a specific thread aimed at this, if there is my apologises & please merge.
Went up the Blue Mountains west of Sydney today for lunch with my wife, beautiful day & scenery.

Beautiful stinger. I have the same year GT. I have new intakes and a jb4 already but I was looking at putting on sway bars front and rear. Is it worth doing?

IMO, upgrading the swaybars are the best mod you can do to this car, had mine on since 2018 & cannot recommended this upgrade enough.

Would they work well without the lowering kit (standard suspension)?

Most definitely, my car is not lowered & it handles great.

Just took the stinger out around the unplowed and unsalted neighborhood. So much fun! Pilot sport as 4 did well! But took the hummer out to the grocery to not get salt on the stinger..

DSCF1245.MOV That's what I had to drive through to get out of Utah on Wednesday. I was on my way to join The People's Convoy and drive with them yesterday, from Kingman, Arizona, east on I-40: I went as far as I could, which was only Ash Fork. But you do as much as you can do.

Only c. 60 miles into the trip, and my windshield washers stopped working (but they resumed working once I got out of the freezing weather: making me wonder if Kia "topped off" my fluid with water!??), and my freshly washed car looked like road salt shit: it got worse: in that video what you don't see is the brown slush from nose to tail and up to the door handles: when the slush melted off around St. George, I had a maxed dose of road salt, halfway up my side windows: that evening, in Kingman, I was directed by the desk clerk at the Rodeway Inn to a hand wand (touchless) car wash and rinsed 95% of the guck off: I couldn't finish the job and had to be satisfied with drying towels, and she didn't look disreputable for the convoy (I can't finish up properly, because it is below freezing around here for the next two days at least, blah):

My perfect parking spot at the Rodeway Inn; I wish that I could take it with me wherever I go :P
