Not KIA related, but yeah, I could have died today.

So yeah, this is not really KIA related, but today I dropped off my Stinger to get it repaired for a dented rocker panel cause by an auto shop while lifting my car. The auto shop gave me a loaner vehicle (2004 Jeep Liberty with 167,000 miles). Driving home from work today, I am on an intersection at a stop light about to make a left turn. When the light turned green, I proceeded to turn left along with other cars ahead of my, then BAM! for some reason, the POS vehicle would not straighten back up after making the left turn causing the vehicle to run over a median and spun me around on the same side of the road facing the on coming vehicles. All I saw is a white honda passing by me as the vehicle spun around. I could have sworn the moment I hit the curb, the car bounced and spun, that the vehicle would flip over and I'm history with all the turning vehicles coming my way. Miraculously, I did not hit a single car, and no visible damage to the vehicle, and I was able to turn the car around in the right direction to continue driving it home. I'm still shaken up and kept re-hashing the incident in my head on what happened and what could have caused the vehicle to behave the way it did. I wasn't speeding or anything when I made my turn, and it was scary as hell. Now I'm afraid to even drive the vehicle, even to return it back to the auto shop. With the weather about to get worse in the next coming days, my anxiety of driving this loaner vehicle is also increasing dramatically. I'm not exactly sure what to do now. The vehicle drove fine after the accident, with no apparent issue. Should I call the auto shop, tell them what happened, and ask them to take the car back, or do I not report it and just not drive the vehicle until my car is fixed? Anyway, I guess I have my guardian angels looking out for me today, but this is one experience I would not forget. One lesson I learned today is that, don't take anything fore granted. Cherish the people you love because what's there today, might not be there tomorrow.

Yeah! Impacting with the curb "cured" what was wrong with it, ya think? I don't. Just get it replaced pronto. I attribute your continuing on home to "shell shock". Sitting here reading this, I say, no way would I roll ten more feet in that thing. Something is haywire with the steering. Period. Tear off a piece when you let them know what happened! Liability is a dreadful fate. Your "luck" spared them too.

Dude, sorry to hear that! Glad you are ok. Take that car back and and tell them what happened. Get another car to drive, it sounds like there is something wrong with that vehicle.

Glad to hear you are ok. I agree, definitely let the dealership know what happened with the loaner.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I called them today and they went to pickup the vehicle. Poor driver, they didnt tell him what happened so I had to tell him what happened to me so he'll be careful driving it back to their shop. I hope he gets back ok. I told them I didnt want another loaner. I'll just wait for my car to be done and have my wife drive me to get my car back.

jeeps are crap...this thread proves it....overpriced crap at that.

I'm glad it turned out ok, op...no one gets out alive but no sense in speeding up the process.

Wow, good to hear you are are well despite the Jeep's bad behavior!

Thanks guys. Yeah I was never fond of jeeps or SUVs for that matter. I was very fortunate that day. I'm just glad I have my car back.

A bloke I used to work for years ago had a Jeep, can’t remember the model but it was top of the line at the time and yeah an expensive P.O.S. Anyway he’s got smashed after work one day, somehow locked his keys in the Jeep then caught a cab home and left the Jeep in the car park of the pub. He’s rung me the next day at work, told me he’d rung the Jeep dealership they were sending a technician out to the pub to somehow unlock the car, would I meet the guy there then drive the Jeep back to his place. Sure boss, no worries. I head down to the pub, the technician turns up smartly dressed in a Jeep uniform, has a look around then pulls his phone out and rings the dealership. ‘Ah yeah I’ve got a model XYZ series 2 here with the keys locked in it, how do we gain access?” He listens for a bit going “Yup,uh-uh, right, yep, ok, yep ok got it thanks.” He hangs up, turns to me and says “We have to break a window.” It had all seemed so high tech up until then that the low tech solution was quite a let down.
