Hey everyone, had my stinger for a few days love this car a bunch besides the city mpg lol. What did you guys mod first? Did you do performance mods or visual mods first? Besides the creeks and stuff everyone report is there something else I should look out for? Anyway to lock the door while the car is turned on from the outside? Front .webp

Congratulations and welcome! Oil catch can should be one of the first mods you should do. The other first should be at least a rear sway bar.
I have the catch can and both front and rear sway bars.
Look out for rock chips. The paint is very thin

Never heard of the oil catch cans before. What are they suppose to do? Also would the sway bars be good with the AWD?

They are designed to catch any oil blow by from the crank case. Forced induction cars are more susceptible to this than Naturally aspirated cars. They are especially needed if you do any piggyback tuning, such as adding more boost.
Rear wheel drive or all-wheel drive both benefit from sway bars, the sway bar is designed to flatten out the suspension during cornering. Believe me, sway bars are the best thing you could do to this car besides getting a catch can.

Lol cool beans so should I get the sway bars around the time I get my lowering spings or it wont matter

Hey DMM,

Welcome to the forums and congrats on your awesome new red Stinger!!! I love the color combo with the black roof it looks pretty sweet. As far as mods go there are lots of different options but if you are looking to build an all around package I encourage you to switch back and forth from exterior to performance. For example you can start out with a rear spoiler and an intake such as Injen. I would be glad to go over some different options from www.k8stingerstore.com with you. You can shoot us an email at sales@k8stingerstore.com with any questions and I would be glad to hook you up with a discount as well.

The lowering springs are more for looks than anything. You’ll get much better handling performance from the sway bars. I suggest get those first and then decided if you still want lowering springs

Hi. Try out the car for a while first. Then if you think you might like a bit of flatter, more "buttoned down" feel when carving curves, try the rear sway bar. I was going to get the front one too, but so far haven't bothered because I like the ride and handling/feel of my car just fine with just the rear sway bar.

Im going to do more research but what difference do you feel? Which sway bars did you purchase?

Cool! Thanks man! Does brands really matter?

Bar, singular: the Eibach rear sway bar. I can hold curves with less body movement. I doubt that it actually/physically allows faster cornering, but by feeling more "planted", with less tendency to kick out a bit to the side on uneven surfaces, it inspires confidence, allowing me to push harder.

"Float" or "hop" are the objections to the OE rear suspension; because the movement causes that "kick" or "step out" to the side when cornering "spiritedly". I noticed this too though it didn't really bother me much because the recovery was always there; but it really bothers some drivers.

The rear sway bar (set to "soft", i.e. for open roads, not the track) almost entirely eliminates the floaty feel and stepping out when cornering. Also in a straight line, if you hit undulations in the road, the body won't float or hop up and down when it has received the sway bar upgrade: just the initial pop into the air in back and then it settles down without subsequent movement.

OK cool and the reason i said bars because I see you can get them for the front and rear. Thanks for the response :)

Rebadge the back with the STINGER script. Search this forum and YouTube on how it's done. Take your time and do your homework before attempting any mods. I went with easy aesthetics first, while I researched getting into engine mods. Congratulations on your ride!!! You made a great choice, as everyone on this forum did! You are in for a RIDE!!!:)
