Took them just over an hour to do the fix. I had to force them to do it. They said they needed to perform an inspection before doing the fix. Asked what they were looking for and they couldn't say.
Wow, 2 month lead time? It’s a recall not a brake job lol, your original dealer needs to rethink their priorities.Had mine done Monday. I was lucky number 2 this dealership did. Took 2 hrs 45 min to do it. They kept apologizing. Told them no worries. Take their time and do it right the first time. They forgot to hook up the windshield washer supply line so I had to go back and have them attach it. Could have done it myself but thought if I break it, I pay for it. Original dealership I bought car from contacted me and said earliest appointment was second week of Feb. I laughed and said I had it done already. Told them to call me when their wait time for anything including oil changes gets under a 2 week wait for an appointment. Not holding my breath for a call.
Have you tried submitting your parts receipt for reimbursement? Instructions on the back of the recall notice. Sounds like this should qualify. So we shall see if/when they actually ship the part. What sucks is that the shipping costs over twice as much as the kit, but still less than $20 out the door.
Well I am sure they acted on my comments-lol. Oil changes available Jan 21. "Major repairs" (brake/ rotor job)--earliest Feb 22nd. Screen shots taken today.Wow, 2 month lead time? It’s a recall not a brake job lol, your original dealer needs to rethink their priorities.
Happy New Year to all Stinger folks! Good bye 2020 you sucked. Here’s to having awesome cars that are no longer fire hazards
After purchasing mine used, I called the service department of the dealer that originally sold the vehicle to see what the service history was. It basically had the rotors replaced, but apparently the owner did not have the scheduled maintenance done by that dealer so they had no records for that. I guess I probably could have called the previous owner because they left their phone and contact information programmed in the unit, as well as their "home" favorite in the NAV. (Let that be a lesson to anyone that sells or trades in a car, make sure you erase all of these things!)Took them just over an hour to do the fix. I had to force them to do it. yes as long as you have the roomHow about If performing diy. Will leaving the tuner plugs attached be okay while performing the recall notice?
Dealerships gonna dealership, I guess. Maybe someone dropped-in for the recall and your parts were used. IDKCalled the dealer last week to make an appointment for the recall work. Guy on the phone noted it, said it'd be a 1.5hr job, and set the appointment for first thing this morning. I show up and they take the car. 30 minutes later they come get me and say I'm good to go..."We have to order the parts kit, it'll be here in a few days and we'll call you back to get the work done"...??
What exactly was the point?
Same thing happened to me. I’m waiting for my second visit now. At my fist visit, after leaving it there half a day, when service called me to say car was “ready” for pickup, he told me it was a “2 part recall”, the first part was an “inspection”. I think they messed up and thought they could order the part at the last minute on the day I brought my car in, and realized that it is not as simple as that for this recall (they associate each VIN to the recall kit).Called the dealer last week to make an appointment for the recall work. That’s sucks, they didn’t know they needed parts? It’s in the recall paperwork. Boneheads.Called the dealer last week to make an appointment for the recall work. Service done. About 3 hours total time. I arrived for a 10am appointment, they didn't immediately start working, but once it was in the bay it was a quick process. The service sheet says a "wiring kit" was installed for the recall and that the "headlight software was coded wrong. Corrected coding."I'm currently sitting at the dealership now waiting on the recall work to be done. This is that same dealer that replaced the FCA (Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist) camera sensor a couple of years ago.
Ever since the camera was replaced the High Beam Assist has not worked in the car, so I figure they can check that out while I'm here. I'm not holding my breath for a resolution.
Does anyone know if the HBA (High Beam Assist) is a calibration issue or if there is something "part" related that's missing? 2019 GT1 fwiw
So long as your ABS works properly and no lights are on, the recall is done. It’s just done so that if the HECU fails or shorts it doesn’t go on fire due to the improperly sized OEM fuse.Service done. About 3 hours total time. We'll see how the headlights are working once it gets dark. But at least the "auto" wording is now showing under the icon again.
I had the service done at Lou Sobh Kia in Cumming, GA. Looks like they did a decent job. Time will tell.
