I'm taking my car next weekend. Anyone have any dealings with Smithtown Kia in Suffolk County Long Island NY? This will be my first time going there and want to make sure they aren't going to mess with me.
I just hope they won't blame any issues on my intake and oil catch plus I hope they don't see my pedal tuner which I'm going to have to hide.
Just returned from the dealership and had the recall work completed. They were great. The tech was very thorough and did a neat & efficient job. They didn’t have too much background on the issue. I discussed with him and he was really good at explaining what he was going to do.
very satisfied

I’m going to Smithtown Kia for my recall. I’ve gotten a wheel balance and oil change there, no complaints so far. The manager is Kevin and Danny the service writer is a good guy too.
I have no idea if they are mod friendly or not, but they are there to fix a recall that has nothing to do with any other mods. Don’t let them try and tell you otherwise. If you were running lean or misfiring etc. then yea they can bust your chops.
I took it to Lockwood Kia in Oakville.
I watched from the waiting area, but I asked to take a look once the new wires were connected.
All looked good in my opinion.
prob all that theyve isolated. might not have seen any issues in other model years. also possible this HECU batch was used in 19's. its a bit wide spread on the exact details since they dont even know

Ok. You would think it has to be a batch of HECUs that were faulty and only used on 19’s otherwise they’d recall all Stinger model years but who knows. Hyundai/Kia haven’t exactly been forthright when it comes to recalls.
I had a Sorrento that I brought in for recall. Decided to take them up on the one time free oil change during same trip.
I guess they must figure it’s good to sprinkle oil on top of motor too...
I kind of chuckled and shook my head as I cleaned that up but when I noticed the scratches all over the entire car from their dirty car wash that I never asked for that was game changer for me. When I got my GT I told myself they are no way touching this one. I hate recalls!!
Every time I take mine to the dealer, I put a little laminated sign I made over the Horn Area so they CAN'T miss when they are moving the car.
It reads......."DO NOT WASH THIS CAR"
I contacted the dealership I bought the car at. They said they need to order the part and they have an opening first week of Feb if I schedule today. They are on a 6 to 7 week backlog for scheduling appointments. Same dealer it took 2 months to get an oil change scheduled. Waiting for word from second dealer on time frame.
Have mine scheduled for two weeks from now. Said it would take 2-3 hours? Seems like an awful long time based on what I saw via the web. Oh well, will have to bring the laptop and get some work done. Coupled with the first oil change. Going to Matt Harvey Kia in Jersey.
