Yesterday went to just LOOK at a federation orange gt2. Wellllllllllllllllll we drove away with it.
My 2019 Rav4 is being lemon lawed back to Toyota. I was going to wait for the 2021 crossovers to arrive. But after not driving the Rav, it is sitting waiting for pick up, don't want to damage it now, I got in it and sort of said why do we need a vehicle this big? The Rav is a neat car, great tech etc.

So dear hubby said lets look a sedans with some power. My key desire was ventilated seats and the good safety tech. So I searched for cars with ventilated seats............... Started the search a few weeks back, then hubby said look at the stinger! My comment was what the heck is a stinger, never even looked at kia's. So started research on the stinger, it is rated high and well against a lot of other sedans. And it has ventilated seats! Also looked at the genesis (but prefer the trunk size with the stinger)

Next step got to drive one, no clue on the car, how it drives, feels, etc. We make a appointment to go and see a loaded gt2, took a test drive. BTW going over I told hubby we ARE NOT BUYING TODAY! I was going to wait for the 2021 stinger, but why with the discount being offered.

He drove the car off the lot then I took over! What a darn sweet drive! I had a mazda rx7 back in the day, loved that car.

100f outside, miserable, ventilated seats cooled me right off! Put in sport mode and the seat grabs you, then found out when you turn it off the seat and steering wheel move back and out of your way. Mirrors fold back, neat little remote start fob.
Well darn I was sold on it, so we bought! Probably not as good a deal as what I saw on some of the forum chat, but we are happy. Also got the protection plan (bumper to bumper 100000 miles or 10 years.
Salesman gave it to us at cost. Good idea? who knows? but we are fine with the expense.

My hubby has 5 camaro's one is a 2013 ss, corvettes one is the 50 yr anniversary car, firebirds, etc (not all tagged he collects cars, not high dollar ones except the ss and corvette.)

I was driving my 06 prius and the rav4. The prius is our bee wagon, carries honey and bee supplies beautifully.

Now my drive is the stinger! Going from 42 mpg to 17-23 mpg, the prius gets 50mpg even as old as it is. We are retired so no need to worry about gas mileage, don't put that many miles on the cars. 20200720_185009.webp20200720_184952.webp

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Stinger GT! What a way to get into one. :p I’m glad you found us! :)

Welcome to the hive! and trust me... you are not the first person who bought one "unintentionally" after a test drive!

I don't like driving my hubbies camaro or corvette hard to see where the front of the hood is. The stinger easy, smiled all the way home!
And us old folks like the seat and steering wheel moving out of the way, I was shocked when it did it!

Reading the features and functions guide then going out to play with the buttons!

Great idea!... there is A LOT of things to learn.... and some are conditional so they can throw you for a loop when they don't do what you think they should!

Hi and Welcome. I am new here too, but all are friendly.

Lovely looking car in orange. I hope you enjoy and good luck working out all the features, you will be there for some time!

I like forums, one of the reasons my Rav4 is being repurchased, extensive forum reading of the issue and the lack of a fix from toyota.

You can always learn something.

Hi. Superb intro. You fell for the fatal "test drive". Hah! :D Happens all the time. I made it through the weekend after my test drive, then went back in on Monday and bought our GT1 in Silky Silver: my wife insisted on the color, which made the dealer scramble to find one: had to trade one of their cars for the Silky Silver from another dealer half an hour away. While they drove their car down and our car back, I hung out at the dealership checking out their extensive inventory of Stingers. One of the most fun days of my life. Welcome to the forum.

(By the way, the hood still messes with me: I think that I've snugged up close to the curb and when I get out and look, I'm two feet away! Heh! :P So, I don't know what sensory perceptions you have that make this car's sloping hood easy to judge distance by.)

lol Same as on my rav, they squawk if you get to close to something. Parking distance warning. With my rav I could snug it tight in the garage. When backing up it has the 360 view see around all sides of the vehicle. The side mirrors point down when backing up then go back up to normal.

I think it shows on the monitor when moving forward, I think you can hit the view button to turn it on. Have not driven it enough to be sure. I am reading the book to see what all it does, then will go out and play with buttons.

So easy to park. Now hubby never looks at the monitor, pays attention to squawking noises. Me, I only watch and listen to them as I park it.

The parking is called Surround View Monitor it does show going forward or reverse, forward under 10mph and when in reverse. And you can hit the view button to change which cams are showing on the screen.

You get no "squawk" from a curb. And I positively will not snug my front bumper over a curb, never, ever, again.

Surround view only appeared after 2018. :( Would have saved me tons of grief, and I never would have acquired my title: "King of Curb Rash". Hah.

lmao................hubby is famous for hitting curbs with his acura, camaro, corvette. He has become a lot more cautious. The last curb hit took off the under stuff in the 05 acura

He did the first drive of the car, you should have watched us both try to figure out how to put it in park! Did not notice the display saying it was in park as we hit that p button, he would move the shifter, guess what we started moving again. It was funny!

"Shift by wire". Glad my GT1 has a bog standard, retro "T" shifter; that goes into manual gate when you push it left. Love it. Use it all the time; hardly every use automatic shifting.

I saw it was shift by wire, that meant nothing to me, just like you saying a bog standard.............................I need to learn the terminology, it does have those paddle shifters, not touching them until I drive this car for a bit.

A prius you hit the start button and it drives....................

The hybrid rav and the prius, with the electric motors actually had decent pick up. But now feel like pokey slugs after driving the stinger. Dear hubby is a bit upset that my new stinger is faster than his corvette and might be faster than his camaro. He just looked it up the camaro is a dash faster...............whew! He does not need a new one to stay the fastest!

Utoh he just saw a youtube my stinger is faster in the 1/4 mile than the camaro...................high 11 seconds

Only modded. The stock GT is a 13.something seconds car in the quarter mile. (And, you spelled "Utah" wrong. :P;))
