Probably shouldn’t assume mate. I changed mine to the Korean E badge and large Stinger script and it had nothing to do with being embarrassed to be driving a Kia, and everything to do with I like the new badges better than the factory badges, especially the rear large Stinger script. It should’ve had that on the back of it in every market world wide, not just Korea. I happily tell people when asked that it’s a Kia and love the look of shock on their faces when they hear that. There’s nothing embarrassing about the brand or the car it’s simply a personal choice.
A similar thing happens here in Australia. We have.... or had our locally built Holden SS commodore which was running a Chevy V8. People would strip the Holden badges and replace them with Chevy badges. I know they are both GM products, but I never understood why. Are you embarrassed that it’s a Holden? Do you wish it was a Chevy? Does it make it go faster?
As far as being different, the more people that are doing it the more it becomes the norm.
I had no idea. Not being a "car guy" I never noticed such things. This must be a human propensity to find foreign lands "exotic" somehow. That's funny because in the U.S. people rebadge them by removing the Chevy (and Pontiac with the GTO) badging and replacing it with Holden.
