New JB4 Stinger Dyno Results!

______________________________
What were they? And how do they differ?

368hp/510tq

JB4 on Map 2, DENSO plugs, DIY intakes, rear cat delete, Borla cat-back.

Seems like most of the numbers I've seen online with similar mods have been HP in the 430s/440s and TQ just under 500..

I get that dyno's will all say something different depending on a wide range of factors, but I really wasn't expecting this big of a gap and that low of HP number.

And no, I never did a stock dyno run, I just used other people's numbers as reference.

But yours wasn't on a Dynojet, right?

that seems like way too much difference in hp/tq. From what I understand, the dyno measures the torque and the HP is calculated from that, maybe the calculation was off.

I'm gonna do a baseline Dyno run this week with BMW intakes only. Then try next week with map 1 and 2.

Correct, Mustang AWD dyno.

I think that's why you got the lower numbers. I recall reading that Mustang Dyno read like 10-20 percent lower that Dyno jets.

If you go by that you would be around the 420-440 mark for WHP.

12% difference i believe

Is this a "set rule?" Fully understanding that dyno's are not 100% accurate to begin with.

I guess is a set rule between Mustang Dyno and Dyno Jet.

Mustang to Mustang they should be very close. Same from Dyno Jet to Dyno Jet.

The biggest difference comes when comparing Mustang Dyno to Dyno Jet from my understanding.

Seems most people with DPs had jb4 and switched to lap3 but do agree with Terry the DPs don't do all that much and not worth the effort.

I was thinking about ssr downpipes. Will they give me problems with jb4?

No.

Only primary downpipes will.

I have absolutely no problem with JB4 and primary downpipes.
Just an hour ago, I did a test pull with a friend over a mile distance.
The car runs like a charm. I can't be happier.

Look for yourself :coffee:

The issues are with catless, primary and secondary's.

I was curious about that too but based on what Terry explained recently they just wasted their money... Apparently they both use the same “passive delete” feature, but lap3 must just be using it illegally in the USA and not informing their customers. That’s why people believe that only a lap3 can run DPs, when it’s really that BMS just won’t risk the liability so they don’t advertise that feature in the states. The more you know... lol.

Its more than the CEL. People are also seeing over boost with the JB4 and not with the Lap3 pro.

Not true at all. Many people have had issues with going catless including lap3 folks and Tork. Most of them have even thrown back on the secondaries or added a small cat to create a bit of back pressure and slow down the spooling.

Its not a only JB4, lap3 or ECU Tunning issue its an everyone issue. No one has been able to really solve for it yet and we all have been band-aiding the fix.

They are based in Korea I am not sure on how their distribution works but if they ship directly from Korea whos going to come after them? Terry is in Cali the land of laws on top of laws and restrictions on top of restrictions.

Lap3 (David Chung) claims they have this nailed. But Agree Tork is still working on it. The only Lap3 I know of that added the secondary back was @Michael Locke but it was due to turbo burning oil not the ability of the Lap3 to handle the over boost issue. I could be wrong but that's what I have read about so far.

Nobody has this nailed down. I have messages from Chung stating that they can not control the duty cycle or have any control of PIDs or the WG. I was offered to buy the product and to return if it doesnt work, but based on our conversations I wasnt going to waste my time. There are only 2 street cars running catless and FBO. They are both on the Coast one in florida one in cali. The air density in a sub zero winter is much different then running around over there. No one running in that kind of cold weather is running lap3 catless for those exact reasons. Now that spring is here I have zero issues with over boosting. I actually havent seen my boost go over 19PSI in quite a while. During the winter months (with no changes from my current set up) I would sky rocket into the mid 20s (seen as high as 25).

Our only hope will be if a Tuner can actually FULLY map this ecu already and tune for this or when Terry releases his updated controls O_O
