New JB4 Stinger Dyno Results!

Man...for a thread titled "New JB4 Stinger Dyno Results!" it sure has been a while since we saw one. And yes, I realize I've been part of the problem. Maybe we could have another thread called Dyno Results...no, really!
Lol, why so needy! JK but believe Terry is working on it. He said hes been working with Fuel-It and his shop car has been under development with fuel system upgrades. Hopefully he will have squeezed out a few more HP, but highly doubt we will see much more than 462whp/531wtq unless he decides to start modifying the exhaust. If he added DPs or MPs he probably would match or surpass lap3's 485whp stock turbo record, but he said he wants to keep his car legal in the USA so we may all be holding our breath for a while.

Oh, I'm not trying to lay it at Terry's feet....it's all us other jokers with $mumblemumble in mods dumped into our cars, why not see what we can pull? :D

JB4 does everything Lap3-Pro can. I think the reason people running Lap3-Pro with downpipes don't complain as much is there isn't as many of them and as they have no logging they really have no idea what is going on with their cars tuning anyway. :)

Some cars need WGDC reduced with downpipes and that requires EWG control on the JB4 end, which isn't released yet, or direct WGDC mapping in the ECU. The gains with DPs on good fuel is relatively small so in many cases just not worth the cost, headaches, and odor. Once we have EWG control active in the JB4 we'll revisit DPs.
Thats exactly what I believe and have been explaining to people on your behalf!

However Dabears posted that you couldnt help him with the CEL, overboost and other DP issues lap3 claims they prevent. What could they be doing different so they dont have the same ongoing issues? Is it possible they focused on and already figured out the EWG control so they could sell their DPs & claim HP records?

I know many people that are waiting on EWG control specifically since it should help with the boost fluctuations people keep reporting. Any ETA or estimate on that feature?

It's illegal to disable CELs in the USA. Information is out there for those interested but certainly not anything we want to assist you with due to the huge possible fines.

A customer with primary cat deletes just posted a half mile JB4 log showing perfect boost control. As is often the case there are individual differences in cars and mods that might cause one car to have issues where another car doesn't. If you never look at your data you'll never know anything is "off" from where it's "supposed" to be. Lap3-Pro does not offer EWG control.

Also as I've said dyno records are a game. Especially on a lower load dynojet where you can run tuning that is more aggressive than you'd ever run on the road in real world situations. We have dyno runs that exceed 462whp significantly but it's not something we'd ever want customers to run so why even discuss it? You'll note any dyno we post has a detailed datalog to go with it so you can evaluate the tuning for the result. Something no other tuner in this market does.

That is correct. No one can help me when I get back into the winter months but to close the mufflers to create some back pressure to slow things down a bit. Now that its spring I dont experience Overboosting issues. I have been driving with my mufflers open for a few weeks now.

Until we get a reputable ECU tuner who can address the issues i would suggest waiting on terrys EWG control (hopefully soon huh terry... cough cough ill buy you a 12 pack to work on it this weekend :) )

I dont mind the code delete option. I could use solutions out there to use the passive delete, but its really not a big deal.

I really dont reccomend going catless with Full bolt ons until we get ECU tuning or Terry drinks that 12 pack down and gives us the EWG control. Looks like someone was having good results going catless but keeping the stock intakes to slow things down.

I’ll double that offer! Two 12 packs and I’ll throw in a handle of Tito’s Vodka!;)

I posted my dyno results on this forum, not sure if it was this thread or one of the other JB4 threads, but I was a bit surprised and confused by the results, comparing to the rest of the Stingers with similar mods and their numbers.

What were they? And how do they differ?

We explained dynos are all relative. One dyno reads differently then the next. The real test is going to a 1/4 mile strip.

I'm a but confused on what fuekni need for map 2.

Up here we have husky/mohawk 94 but I much prefer shell 91 as it contains no ethanol.

Your first page shows map 2 on 91 which is what I'm hoping for. But I've seen other documentation asking for 93+ with map 2.

When you see conflicting results then rely on our direct documentation. ;)

The conflicting results are between your Dyno charts on the website and the first page of this thread running 91 octane and and your documentation suggesting 93+. Lol

Map2 is normally fine for 91+ octane.

Whaaaat? Good to know, I've been religiously adding octane to get to 93 based on that documentation.

How much boost for how much octane is always somewhat subjective. When in doubt log your car, look at timing across all 6 cylinders, and determine your risk tolerance. More octane is always better and safer than less octane.

Right. And to be clear, it feels like it's happier on the 96-97 I'm currently running. Good to know there's some leeway, though.

What do they run you where you are? I'm fixing to get one done eventually, but scheduling and all that. Haven't inquired yet.
Tork down in Auburn Wa will do free dyno and custom ecu tune, $900 total.

Seems most people with DPs had jb4 and switched to lap3 but do agree with Terry the DPs don't do all that much and not worth the effort.
