New 2022 GT2 AWD owner with some likes, gripes, and comparisons to our Panamera 4

Agreed on lacking wireless AA with wireless charger present. Lets hope it becomes available with a future update. Many of us will be pissed if not.

If the car has wireless data capabilities already, then yes it's theoretically possible to add AA Wireless. But even then certain dots have to be connected in the infotainment unit to allow the software (AA) to talk seamlessly over the wireless data connection. The odds of that being a quick flip of a bit are not great. Just wanted to set the bar/expectation low in case you were holding out hope.

The question is, does 2022 infotainment have wifi capabilities? The nav manual shows lte bands but makes no mention of wifi. It's hard to imagine a 2022 MY not having this feature.

Do other cars in the kia/hyundai lineup with the 10.25" display have wireless function?

Anyone know what the wireless charging is capable of? How many amps or watts?
looks like 5 watts.. 9-16 volts.? 1633557399457.webp

The infotainment system lets you set normal and fast wireless charging (22 MY). Hmm... I'll have to experiment again to see if I can tell what the charge rates are for each. Only my samdung s9+ has wireless charging. No such luck with the OP7t.

I really haven't embraced the connectivity features... Still keep my phone in airplane mode when in the car.

I just tested it and it appears to charge wirelessly faster than the USB cable. I'd guess 10 watts.

That was a fun car intro/comparison OP. Sway bars will definitely reduce, almost eliminate, "float" (and rear stepping out).

Time to start making the car your own, I'd say sway bars are a huge improvement for the Stinger, really tightens it up and makes the car "funner" to drive. Wider aftermarket rims and grippier tires are a great improvement as well. My biggest gripe with the 22 models are those oversized fake exhaust outlets, not sure what options there are for those, real tips are so much better.. nice whip though

I agree and I think I will do the sways soon. I was all prepared for a JB4 + Intakes, but the car is plenty fast. Too fast for my urban environment.

One of the reasons I bought a 2022 model was because I really disliked the old wheels with the fake center caps. I plan to ski a lot with this car so I will probably leave the A/S tires on. I didn't realize it has no mounts for a roof rack though, that's REALLY a big oversight. I mean, literally every BMW, Audi, and Mercedes has them, how could they miss it?

Sways are really a must have in my opinion.. I didn't believe everyone until I did it. The beauty of the jb4 is you can basically turn it off lol.. tires i would highly recommend Continental ultra performance A/S. I love em.. who needs a roof rack when you can pop the hatch and fold the seats down lol.. Enjoy the Stinger, it'll grow on ya

Yes, very much aware of the product (there's also a long running thread on this forum). It makes a wifi signal that mimics being an AA compatible usb cable-connected device, allowing any modern android phone to run AA wirelessly with any AA-ready head unit. Early adopters had some minor issues and/or couldn't get it to run, but most have reported that it works. Production has been perpetually behind and the pandemic/chip shortages isn't helping. Once their new version is fully fleshed out and production ramps up, I see myself getting one for the Stinger.

Bad:
- What good is a wireless charger if Android Auto isn't wireless? This is just dumb.
- The infotainment has humongous lag. It takes almost a second to respond.
- Android Auto is kinda blurry. It looks like Android Auto is being rendered at lower resolution and then upscaled. Not unusable, but noticeable.
i used to use android auto and stopped once i saw how awesome uvo is. you no longer need android auto.
you dont need a cord if you use uvo.
i have a youtube music subscription and i just bluetooth my phone to the car. if you use youtube music, make sure you go into the app settings and make sure Highest Quality is checked off for mobile and wifi networks.
seems like all the infotainment systems are not very fluid in my experience; not sure why.
uvo sub is worth it.

Ok I'll give UVO a shot. Thanks.

@n8hegr8 For me, probably the biggest draw to AA would be the near realtime traffic reporting. I don't think any other traffic service is as up to date (waze?). Does the free uvo plan provide any traffic reporting?

Anyways, we're paying $40K+ for a car in 2021. Shouldn't it come with wireless support for AA/ACP?

As always, things might be different in different regions, but UVO in Canada does traffic, and does it well.
