So my condo decided to do parking resurfacing while i was away for two weeks. Did not give much of any advanced notice. I always park my car with the nose pointed away from the curb so I don't have to worry about cross traffic backing out.. Where I found my car on the other side of the condo, it was parked with the nose pointed toward the curb. Also noticed that my stinger mirrors were in the open position instead of retracted.
How the heck is this all possible? lol. did the towing people somehow got into my car?

I just got a 2018 GT2 with 34K miles for $40K after tax as a used car from a used car dealer. I thought it was a bit overpriced but given the current market it is what it is i guess. My car had some mod to it. It has aftermarket exhaust which is definitely louder than the factory one. I...

I just couldn't see how my car is moved to the other side of the lot with the nose pointing inward toward the curve. When you tow a car with the nose outward, and you drop it off from the bed, the orientation would still be outward right?
I mean, it's just not physically possible unless A. you have access to the car steering wheel or B. you lift the whole car up and down like a giant crane. There is no room for the tow truck to be on the curve as you can see.
So weird. Anyone working in the towing industry can comment?
The mirrors were open, instead of retracted? Assuming that happened without any intervention by you (unlocking the vehicle or passing by the vehicle), that would concern me the most. Many options to move it, not too many options to get those mirrors opened without the key fob.
How hard is it to move a car on dollies like that for like a few hundred yards by say 4 people? there are a couple of speed bumps also in the parking lot that they would have to push it over
And yes, several cars were probably moved. So i can't imagine how hard it would be for 4 people to do this.... lol..
I work at an impound lot. They have "Wreckers" which are the size of basically a single cab truck. Some are dully and are wider but they are made to get into tight spaces. Especially apartment building parking lots, ramps, basically anywhere a flatbed can't go. A wrecker could've easily picked up your car, pulled it out, then reversed it back in. Also, I've actually used car dollies, helping the tow guys push the really expensive cars into place on occasion.
Don't know about the whole mirrors turned in thing. Towing the car shouldn't have any effect on that, I literally had my Stinger towed last night. It was on a flatbed though.
Pretty sure the mirrors can be folded manually. Most power-folding mirrors can do this safely, in case the mirror gets bumped while driving or parked.
Whomever moved your car probably folded them just to make sure they don't bump into any thing while moving it. I've seen tow truck drivers do this, especially on larger/wider vehicles.

From your story, that to me, was what was odd. Them being "unfolded" doesn't seem right if they were folded when you left her. But...I guess it is what it is.

yeah, a lot of this towing thing don't make sense ;( . I am really curious and want to get to the bottom of this too. Fortunately nothing seems damaged.
Whoever moved the cars probably weren't keeping track of which car they had to fold mirrors and which ones were already folded, so they just unfold all the mirrors once moved. Who knows?
My suggestion is to get dash cams with G sensors that automatically record videos whenever a G-force exceeding set threshold is detected. You should have front and rear cams anyway, and many of them have either that feature built-in or add-on accessories that does shock sensing. This is especially important if your overnight home parking is not inside a garage.
