Hey I think you have done a stellar job of customising your car your way and to your taste. Unfortunately when you post a thread like this you will get opinions that you won’t like. Personally I’m not a big fan of carbon fibre look but if you like it that’s the only thing that matters. I had lots of stuff to put on my car in the way of extra badges but it got to the point where it looks too much. So maybe leave the R decal and lose the scorpion it keeps it clean I think.

The car looks great, just personally not a fan of the R. It doesn't have much to do with the Stinger.

Don't misunderstand my responses here, I'm not getting offended whatsoever. This is exactly why I posted.

The Scorpion was a last-minute add-on to give a theme to the build. Half my friends liking half don't.

As for the are, it is a chrome and painted metal emblem and again, it is part of the theme. A sport version of the Kia Stinger.... I had read somewhere that KIA was thinking about a GT-R model or an R model sport version and that's where I came up with this idea. It is similar to what I thought about doing to my SX Optima a few years back.

Your basically wanting to pose something the car is not. Damm dude, that makes me sad. The Stinger is awesome as is. Don't be a poser. There are enough out there already.

So if I understand what you're saying, the Kia sponsored SEMA cars were a bad idea on Kia's part and that I misunderstood them when they sponsored those cars by thinking that they were encouraging a sports model?

You might as well CF wrap the rear too if you haven't (can't tell from your pics).

And I will repeat, I do appreciate everyone's feedback on this matter. And the reason I'm doing this is because I thought about building a few of these for sale after I've finished

I say do what makes you happy. Until someone starts making my car payment for me, I
'll do with it as I please. I have no problem with any of it, just not my liking. Im not big on the look of CF and I don't like the scorpion, but I know I'm probably in the minority on the CF look.

Not the same topic. If you in fact had products install , for example, a KN air filter, then yes rock a decal of KN. When ask about your KN decal, then you can show or talk about your mod. You have substance behind the decal.
Your talking about a car that yet does not exist. A stinger GTR?

Actually it is not a stinger GTR but a Stinger R and I thought I did post pictures of it and say that I was considering this as a potential product.

It is just a concept right now. Granted, it is just a bunch of other people's products bolted together, but most people don't have the time or the ability to build their own cars.

Anyway, each to his own and that's why I've got this post right now so I can get a feel for everybody's thoughts. Your comments as well as else's is greatly appreciated and I'm still looking for a lot more from the Stinger community on this subject. If I were to sink my hard-earned money into this and build 5 at a time it would cost me and I need to be sure that I can sell them first. Additionally, this one is in its first stages. I hope to have it done by mid July,

Personally, I rather like it. I would never do it to my own babe, even if money was not an issue. I tend to be a "stock girl" and have always loved cars that are kept stock on the outside and interior. Especially classic muscle cars. There is just something beautiful and dare I say, orgasmic about a car the way the designers intended it to be for me.
Now modifications under the hood is a whole 'nother story. :)

I have to agree with @Ucinn
I say do what makes you happy.

What are you planning on selling? The car with mods?

Build for self is fine, but trying to build to sell, probably not a good idea.

If I'm looking for some GTR type Stinger, I'd want something unique that can't be bought in pieces. So when you look at those customs by West Coast Customs, they are very unique cause those mods aren't commercially available. Plus, along with the exterior enhancements, I'd expect interior ones too, specifically a tuned engine that can output much more horsepower and torque. And I would want unique body colour and new wheels. All these enhancements can easily be an additional $10K or more. I don't see how much margin you could get from doing this.

Also, with the recently announced TUON, the carbon fiber pieces are now covered by Kia. Just mod to whatever pleases you.

I'm going to start my interior modifications pretty soon and while the pieces you see on there or all carbon fiber wrap I had intended on approaching him and us about a licensing fee to produce those pieces in real carbon fiber.

this is just the early stages me and I'm not really sure where I'm going with this I've got an idea and I'm just exploring options.

I'm not sure about theTJON that you're talking about I'll have to Google that when I I'm off the road.

It’s one thing to try and build a car for yourself, it’s another thing to try to build cars to sell to others.

Why would I want to buy this “R” version from you when I can buy the car and install these bolt on parts?

You would have to sell the car as used, and add mark ups to all the parts you add. Again why should I buy the version you’re selling?

Go look at the cars being put out by RUF or Alpina or any custom car builder like RuhWelt. What about those cars make them worth buying over a stock car. Does your “R” have the same things?

This guy types faster than I do. :)

Also who is to say Kia doesn’t make a special variant in 2-3 years with more HP, more refined interior and improved suspension like a Audi S/RS or Cadillac V? Then your R has no value.

Confused: Are you saying you're going to buy new cars off the lot, modify them to your liking, and then try to sell them as used cars?

You are Wrong about being sold as used there are several ways around that one of them is through a dealer, these parts can be purchased in bulk a lot cheaper than retail, and I'll restate did not a lot of people have the time necessary to do these cars themselves and would pay somebody to do it for them,

Just tossing the idea around and I'm trying to see what people have to say about the overall look of the car I haven't made any hard decisions on any of this yet
