Here's the first phase of my version of what I want a Stinger R model to resemble. I haven't started on changing out the leather interior yet by adding gray accents to the existing black but that will happen this summer , as will the wheels, tires, FMIC and a true ECU tune.
Finished Stinger.webp

I am looking for ALL respectful and relevant comments and thoughts on what needs to be done as well as what I have done to date:

2018 Stinger GT1 RWD Ceramic Silver
3.3TT
Borla Polyphonic Exhaust
Ported both Cat inlet flanges to identical sizes
Lap3 91 octane chip
Eibach Pro Springs and Sway Bar Kit
M&S Type "G" Rear Spoiler
M&S Sideliners
M&S Front Lip
Stinger Haus Hood Vents

3M Nanotechnology Self-Healing Clear Bra forward of the doors
Full DUB IR Window Tinting - 70%/20%

Complete Chrome Delete wrapped with Vvivid 2017 VVIVID+ Black Carbon Fiber
Body kit wrapped with Vvivid 2017 VVIVID+ Black Carbon Fiber
Various other pieces wrapped with Vvivid Aluminum Dry Carbon Fiber
Dynoed @ Dyno Doug's in Las Vegas, NV and verified output at 373whp and factored in a .863 powertrain loss coefficient to determine 431bhp at the engine

Personally not a fan of wrapping things, but it looks very good, your next mods shouldbe an ecu tune and wheels

What's the "R" for?

I want people to see this R version Stinger in a parking lot and think it is a factory build and then go try to look it up online. "I saw a cool Stinger R today at the grocery store, I know what I saw"

Get it? I want to mess with their heads!

Car looks amazing. Can you post pictures from other angles too. Also I have a question on changing out the leather interior, will you re-upholster? If so how expensive is it?

I am out of town right now but I will post the pics your asking for this weekend. As for the interior, I tried to special order the gray interior that comes on the AWD GT2 Blue but Kia didn't go for it. I will buy the gray door panels and then have my seats reupholstered with a matching gray leather. I think I will possibly only do the middle leather in the seats and the head rest as well, leaving the sides black. I am also looking at covering the top and bottom of the steering wheel in gray while the side grip areas stay black. I estimate that I will spend $3000 on my interior plans.

Thanks for the encouragement, took a lot for me to start making these changes to a perfectly good car. Don't forget my survey at the top and I am also seeking comments and ideas as I know there are a lot of brilliant minds on this forum.

Perfect. Thank you..

I’ve got to say - I’m with you on the scorpion decal. The bee/wasp thing isn’t working for me as it’s already been played out by other auto manufacturers. My rear license plate frame is scorpions.... a “sting” not soon forgotten. Cheers, db

I have two small scorpions, one black and one tan that I am going to try and encase in clear acrylic and then shape and polish so I can mount in a shifter knob of some sort

That should be a unique mod few have accomplished. Great work with the vinyl wrapping. Too many folks don’t understand how this lends a whole new customizing option without the “stuck” commitment should you decide you’re unhappy with the result. I’ve gotten quite a few years out of some of the decals I’ve applied on past vehicles. Hopefully, the ceramic nano coat I applied over the striping on the stinger will prolong even longer results. Sequential tail lights to replace the reflectors are next for mine - and still waiting for the custom plate. After that - I think I’ll be done. Can’t wait to see where your project ends up. db

Looks ok, are the hood vents upside down?

Get rid of all stickers. No respected car company would "decorate" thier vehicles with suchs. Besides that, car looks good.

I would much rather have real carbon fiber than the "stickers" you talk about but it doesn't exist and if it did it would cost me well over $10,000. And most "self-respecting" manufacturers do applied vinyl to some of their cars in their lineup.

Yes the antenna is wrapped also I'll get more pictures this weekend when I get home if from different angles

I was referring to the R and that Scorpian sticker. Not the wrap. I think the wraps look good.

I think most car people will assume you lifted the R from the already establish Civic type R. And that Scorpian is the exact image that I have spent my whole life seeing everywhere.
