How long did it take for you to get these? I never trusted Aliexpress but you guys are having very good luck with it. I might try it out
About 3-4 weeks.

Is it okay to get the MBRP catback exhaust without using any exhaust tips? Or in other words... only have the stock exhaust tips on the vehicle?

What about if I go with the Borla catback exhaust? (I know it's far louder and with a greater growl - but the drone is only bad at around 2k RPM or less)
You don’t need aftermarket tips. But it does help with drone
All aftermarket exhaust has some kind of drone.

You don't need aftermarket tips if you like the OEM ones but you'll want to do something to minimize the drone. I have the Borla and I wrapped the exhaust pipes with exhaust wrap, pressed it up against the inside of the OEM tips and clamped it all down with U-bots. No drone. There's a link somewhere on the forum on how to do it. I did like the look of the black tips so I took them off and painted them gloss black to match the diffuser.

Absolutely man no problem! Thank you I appreciate it! It's a labor of love for sure

Can you take a picture of how you wrapped and u-bolted to the OEM tips? I tried searching with no luck.

Anyone still waiting for MBRP order placed on New Year’s Eve from K8?

This is not quite what I want my look to be (I go for a bit more sleeper look, and I have a black Stinger, so I probably prefer a chrome emblem), but the red+smoke here is fantastic.

I’ve just about decided against the MBRP in favor fo the Jun BL, and I was thinking I’ll want the black tips instead of chrome...and this made up my mind.

I don’t have much point here other than to say, this looks sharp as hell and helped me make up my mind about look. Nicely done.

Hey Jefferson! Thank you for the nice words I appreciate it! I agree with you about the black script. Painting that black was one of the last things I did to the car and as soon as I put it on, it made the car look much more aggressive.....as all black badging does I guess. I wish they offered black chrome 14in scripts to match the rest of the car but no one makes them. I just wasn't a fan of the polished chrome but thats just my personal taste. On the plus side...NO ONE tries to race me...EVER
Are you thinking going with aftermarket tips or painting/powder coating the OEM ones? I painted mine and its a bit of a process but I really like how they turned out. Probably my favorite aesthetic "Mod" I've done to the car. You may be able to find aftermarket black tips that are same/similar in shape to the OEM ones that would also help with the drone you'll most likely have after you install the MBRP. Or you'll have to do something like the wrap fix I mentioned above. IMO the only thing the Stinger was missing was a nice "grunt" and I'm sure the MBRP with rectify that nicely:thumbup:

“I wish they offered black chrome 14in scripts to match the rest of the car but no one makes them.”

No kidding! This was one of my things—I thought about a black matte script on top of the gloss black of that car, but could never find the matte emblem I wanted. Sounds like you did your own? You may have just answered another of my questions, actually.

Otherwise, I’ll probably grab some simple powder coated tips once I finally decide on the exhaust, but I realized the other week I wanted them to be something other than chrome. I live in downtown DC, so I can do things like bolt on new tips, but painting something has to be done in the alley behind my house and it’s a whole thing, at that point.

But I think you have a good point about what the car was missing—it’s a driver’s car that was engineered for the mass market. That’s worked great for me; we just had a kid and we can fit the kid, our older dog and a couple weeks worth of stuff into the damn thing. But it does mean some of the sports aspects are engineereed out of the car.

Those are compromises I have no problem with to avoid an egg shaped Bimmer or something.

Anyway, I believe you about that black on red. It’s just enough of a hint that something is different that, if you know was the Stinger is, you know you should probably ask about rather than race.

About 99% I’ll do the Jun EVC, and will certainly post and update.

Yeah I painted my script last year and it's held up very well. If you like the look of black chrome you can always try Duplicolor Shadow Chrome. I'd just buy a new script from Sal and give it a go. I may try it this spring as I already have they stuff in the garage. A few members on here have used it and it looks great. I was just worried how it would hold up so I went with my fail safe.... durable, glossy engine paint. If someone came out with a genuine black chrome Stinger script I'd switch it out but I'm not holding my breath. Post a video once you install your exhaust...would love to hear it

That’s what I used on mine. 2 years and no issues yet. I like it as I find the gloss black ones are too much/noticeable. This is a nice subtle in between.

Yup looks great! Did you lightly sand it or anything before painting it to get the paint to stick or just go at it?

Mine finally showed up last Tuesday the 9th. One end on each of the muffler sections had the pipes bent in - one was pretty bad. Spent about an hour and a lot of beating and banging and it is 98% mostly round now. It on the exit pipes so not really too critical
