Could you potentially wrap the MBRP tips to match the diameter of the stock tips? I think this worked on Borla.

Do you mean the drone fix where they connect the muffler tip to the stock exhaust facade using exhaust wrap? I don't see why not.

If you mean using exhaust wrap to actually increase the MBRP diameter, it's already much larger then stock (63mm vs 51mm).

Holy shit that sounds so good. Low and mean, just want I like. Thank you so much for the video! Did you buy the Aluminized Steel version or the T304 Stainless steel version?

.I know you had been asking for a while now ... never got around to get the go pro and go out and we have cops on the highway ... was never ideal lol I wish the 6-1st gear down was better, it didnt capture well the highest gear.

I noticed you were in Canadia but just wanted to make sure. The salt down here would make quick work of the AL version for sure. Have you dyno'd you car yet to see the performance difference?

if I was in a warmer climiate, I would have gone with the AL version for sure, saves some $
I have not yet, if you want to contribute, I can book something next week :whistle::whistle:
I only installed the JB4 and Exhaust late August and we probably will have snow in Nov so I may postponed till April

Lol, all my extra cash is going into student loans and future upgrades haha. I probably won't get my new exhaust until next spring so I can wait :p

So anyone with the aluminum version?

Mine's on the way, I won't be driving the car in the winter so I went with the Aluminized version. I've had one on my 70 Buick for over 20 years.

I installed mine this week (stainless) and I feel like it sounds kind of hollow and tinny. I also have the SSR midpipes so that does play a part in the tones. I do have tips installed as well but its a tight was fit even with trimming. I will need to cut more sincemy tips are rubbing slightly the diffuser. I'm going to remove my tips and see if they are the cause of the sound from not trimming the diffuser enough or something else. I think it sounds great under full acceleration but cant shake the tinny reverberation that happens

So, I had a local shop install my MBRP exhaust last evening. Definitely louder and I do have drone in the cabin at cruising speed. Currently running the existing exhaust tips (unattached to exhaust), so I'm guessing once my tips come in, that'll solve that problem. They loaded my stock exhaust in my hatch and I noticed something once I got it home. Looks like the crushed gaskets are still on the stock H-Pipe. So appears I'll have to go back and have them reinstall them, unless they really aren't needed?? Can I get some direction on this from you guys? I initially told them to remove my stock tips so I can install my new tips once they come in. The owner of the shop just said to bring the tips in and he'll install them no charge. I guess I can just have them address the gaskets when I take it back for the tips.

There are 4 gaskets total only 2 reused. Rest are just clamps

I'll have to look but I swore there were two gaskets on each side of the stock H-Pipe when I got it home. So 4 total.

Right. The new h pipe only has a place for the gaskets to connect the midpipe. The rear connection is tube in tube with clamp

So basically, you're saying they left the gaskets off because they are not needed and there's no place to install with the new setup?

When do you get the tinny sound? I have the same setup as you (SSR's and round Akrapovic tips) and I get a tinny vibration on cold start for about a half-second.

If you remove the tips and the sound goes away, let us know. If that works i think the Oval tips would be the solution as they don't require trimming and leave some room for movement in the diffuser.
