JB4 map 2, 93 octane, CAI, Catback Exhaust, HKS plugs, Eibach lowering springs installed.

Wonder how this looks. Had half a tank of gas and my buddy in the car with me.

Timing was getting rougher as each pass went on. I think map2 is your max, and to continue I would look at running some ethanol as the norm, E27-E30 should clean things up and keep that motor happier.

I truly appreciate the reply. Can you help a novice out and inform me on what would be causing the timing issues?

bad gas. 93 octane is barely enough thats why hes recommending you add some E. Otherwise, use the same gas and move back down to map 1

Yes if you don’t mind getting gunk on your spark plugs.

Yes Octane is the number 1, heat will throw timing off also, summers are tough. I know you have HKS as listed but what was the gap?

Did you mean .022?

Hopefully Darrin will get back to you on this. Seems like a few of your cylinders are a bit off. Wonder if the gap is not great on those particular plugs. I wouldn't run any higher than map two. Just wanted to chime in so I get updates on this thread. still picking up knowledge myself.

Appreciate it. Didn't plan on anything higher than map 2 for now. It's possible the plugs are off, I gapped them myself and perhaps I missed it by just a bit. I was using the BMS gapping tool that they suggested.

Still has timing corrections so likely just subpar fuel or learned adaptions from a tank of subpar fuel. No big deal, just stay on map2.

Spark plugs and gap don't often cause timing drops unless it's so far off you're also getting misfires or stuttering.

Truly appreciate your time. I don't seem to be having stuttering or misfires, so I will go with the fuel theory for now and make sure I add enough octane boost this next fill up, I realized I wasn't adding enough before because I misread the mixing chart.

Also, a gas station near me sells racing fuel that is 110 octane. If I were say going to the dragstrip to race a buddy for fun, would that fuel be okay to run?
