So I made the jump from RaceChip S to a Jb4 and currently enjoying the drive in Map 1 on 93 octane w/Fuel Enabled. The differences in power delivery are quite obvious. With the RaceChip S it felt like it was slipping gears every time it shifted -or like it would constantly jolt between gears with overboost. The JB4 offers a welcoming smooth power delivery through the gears and it is very punchy in sports mode. As for power, I believe the two offer pretty good power but obviously the JB4 map1 with fuel wires and OBDII offers a lot more up top and even more so on the bottom. I am almost fighting a bit of torque steer now off the line, but not enough to lose control over it. Bottom line is that the JB4 feels more tailored for the Stinger making it a overall more pleasurable driving experience.
Unfortunately I am stilling running stock plugs but for 200 miles of test driving I don't feel a hitch or stutter. I will likely in the next month get them updated to Denso's .22, but for now I will enjoy Map 1.
Map 2 says it only adds marginally more peek power, but if it tappers at 4psi instead of 2psi extra, then I imagine it pulls a lot harder in higher RPM making a lot more difference for power over the entire curve and not just the peek. I am hoping to try that as soon as I get my spark plugs replaced.
I was thinking about Tork tune or Pressertech, but it came down to price and availability. It does not make sense to mail off my ECU right now for a possible 3-4 days of down time. And if the dealer ever reflashed it, though improbable, it would be a large head ache. We need our own flashing hardware for it to be practical for me.
On a side note, I just had a Acura TL (probably 2017-2018) try to dance with me on a roll going on the highway. I am not sure if he was just trying to piss me off, but it was fun watch him give up after I kept pulling hard after 100mph.
