Lozic ECU + TCU + AWD Tune

I’m putting together my order for the Lozic ECU TCU. looking for feedback on the units. anything you wish you had ordered differently in the set up, any engine or transmission issues long term. I’m not looking to break the sound barrier in 3.9 seconds but I would like more kick than stock. Something that will provide more fun but not break the car in 20k miles. I plan to keep it for a while, as I have all my other cars. TIA
jb4 is your best bet for kick than stock for a few hundred second hand and the most reliable if you're worried about miles.

If you’re in America, check if MTBE is banned as fuel additive in your state. If you are in a state that not banning MTBE and top tier 93/94 is available then it will be enough for 1.3/1.4 bar 93 tune. If MTBE is banned in your state or you’re in Canada, use pump 93 for 1.3/1.4 bar 91 tune you should expect a clean log.

Interesting, I have a question, which gas is better for your engine, non ethanol or 10% ethanol?
Because I have both types in my state and they are the same price, also both are 93 octane.

Doesn’t matter. Only depends on the specific brands. Shell 93 have the best looking logs for all boosted cars here in Canada and it’s E10. E0 is just easier for you to do E20/E30 mix.

Okay, I have a different experience with Shell 93 it gives me knock, but I'm Rhode island tho, so it might be different gas than yours.

Yup. Here in western Canada shell 93 only arrived earlier this year and it’s a new formula.

what tune do you have? depending on what you've got, pump gas may just not be enough

I was stock actually, but Rhode island is not a super rich state so no one buys 93 octane, and that's why I get knock with E10 93 octane, but not with pure 93, because ethanol absorbs water when it left for a long time.

How are you detecting this knock? do you have a JB4? any logs?

I get the classic sound, you know when you hit the pedal, it sounds like someone hitting the engine with a hammer very quickly, but E0 gas gives me better gas mileage, and the burbles after you let of the gas are less now, yet they are louder!
I say give E0 a try it won't damage anything.

something else is wrong if you can hear the knock....

Well I bought the car used with 30k miles, and was used by a schofer, it's a G80 sport 3.3t, so it means that the driver probably used 87 gas, also the car fax showed long intervals between oil changes and all maintenance where done in Hyundai dealership, and with no oil catch can the engine was caked with carbon, but now with occ and new spark plugs it feels and sounds good.

I would try and get a video of the knock and bring it to a Genny dealer if its not possible to re-create every time, that might warrant something getting replaced under warranty.

No it runs great now, I brought it to a Genesis dealership multiple times and I got so many things replaced under warranty, even a new set of rims!

Depends where you are in Canada. Where I am, Shell logs were terrible.

@dommyydom Yes you can IF your car has the port (MY18-19) and you dont mind stripping the JB4 connectors to get to the bare wires. My OBD2 connector had broken on its own which is what led me to trying it in the first place.

@Hasan You are wrong. My JB4 runs right off that diagnostic port as it has a direct link to the OBD2/Canbus system. The connector does not fit however and you need to splice the wires together on your own.

Is it fully functional? I.e. do all the lines map to a pin on the diagnostic port? Did you find an aftermarket connector that fits that plug?

Yes its functional. The two data pins point to specific ports, the 3rd is just a ground I think. No issues with it so far and only two are connected. I haven't found an actual adapter, I just pinned the ends of the wires and stuck them in.

Yup, people bragging about shell 91 for years but the log looks uglier than PC94 on my boosted 370z. At least summer blend.
