Lets talk tuning, piggy back vs ECU flash.

Presertech offers unlimited flashes no questions asked there customer service is off this world meaning is amazing .... that’s the competition

$1250 for a 59 whp gain compared to $800 for a 125 whp gain isn't competitive.

Personally going from JB4's map 3 to PRESSERtech's ECU tune would be a let down.

There tune is not 800 is 895 plus shipping so more like 930 or so .......is all about personal preference ....account customer service and so and presertech can get better numbers if they wanted too, there just very conservative ... sure if you talk to them they will work with you ...

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Torks tune starts at $795. PRESSERtech tune is $1250.

$30 shipping from Tork is If you choose expidited shipping option.

I have to to respectfully disagree but that’s your opinion .....

Once I get intercooler ..... from power agency and the intakes I will get my ecu tune and sell the JB4 .... just recently bought BOV .....once the moment comes I will decide between Tork and Presertech but I am personally leaning a bit more towards Presertech but only time will tell what I do ...

Yea it's just my personal opinion. I do t see the rationale in dumping a 80 whp tune to spend $1250 for 20 hp less. That's just me though.

PRESSERtech needs to give more aggressive options at better prices to be in the conversation for me.

I understand where your coming from but I am sure Presertech will work with you to make more power if you wanted too... so those numbers aren’t set in stone ....for myself personally I am about 8-9 hours from presertech and we will see what my car makes with actual mods on it is a different story .... just my 2 cents

I have seen nothing pointing to the fact that pressertech will work with you to make more horsepower. Their tune is ultra conservative, and canned. The same for every person purchasing it. They likely have also not figured out some of the issues that other ECU tuners who are trying to advance the platform have. If they had, they would probably be much higher on the leaderboards and there would be at least SOME pressertech dynos floating around with bigger numbers. I think pressertech is a great option for someone staying completely stock and just wanting an extra oomph with 0 concerns, but I don't think you're gonna be running 11s with Pressertech ever. Not at the pace they are setting FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN.

It’s such a new platform only time will tell ... I would not assume there not capable of it .... that’s why I am waiting till next summer to get tuned ...

Agreed presertech offers unlimitated tunes no matter what you just pay shipping no questions asked lol ... they would not differentiate they would meet the competition......but little things like this can make a difference ... I am leaning to drive to Atlanta this coming summer with my friend to get our cars tuned by presertech....
If Tork charged an extra $350 for the tune they could offer free unlimited reflashes as well. Pay in advance or pay less if and when you need it.

I don’t think price has nothing to do with that ..... it’s customer service ..... presertech provides that to any of their tunes not just for the Kia .... that’s has more to do with there service rather than price .... presertech just happens to be more expensive.....

I'm not sure I understand your rationale. If someone is a paying customer and they're willing to eat the shipping cost, what's the down side to you reflashing an ECU whenever the customer wants? It doesn't take very long at all and is automated. I doubt most people would even avail themselves of such a feature, but it would potentially be another way to differentiate your company from the competition.

Just thinking out loud.

Cheers!

You have to understand that there is a lot of tune theft inside the tuning market. So, we have to take into account what the reasons are for reflashing an ECU. We can encrypt our tune files to the moon and back, but eventually someone figures out the key, and we have to change the encryption. Its happened before, and that is what we like to take it as a case by case basis.

I have locals that come by every 3 months to get there ECU flashed back to stock (different markets) every time they go to the dealer for their free oil change. Its a service we offer locals, and for the most part ECU's that get mailed to us.

I like to be different from the competition, and normally do not have any issues with reflash or request for one. Just being cautious on who or how many times we flash and ECU... thats all.

I am sure there customers service is spot on... but, I have yet to see anyone complain about ours :)

Please note... that tuning is not always about being number one in customers service. The first priority in a tune is the performance that is offers, paired up with the drive-ability and then reliability of the tune. We do however, have the fastest tune, and the best price. As soon as people start complaining about the customer service, we will lower the price of the tune :)

Angel, are you implying that we have poor customer service? I am not understanding your point. P-tech has a good tune and great customer service. But if you had a great tune and good customer service... does that some how make the tune any less faster?

Customer service has nothing to do with how a tune performs... its simply how you are treated before and after you buy a tune. If that matters more to you than the actual performance of the tune, then I highly recommend that you get a tune from Presertech.

I would love to hear your review of the Presertech tune vs the JB4. That might be an interesting review.

So does your tune sacrifice any drivability or reliability?

So does your tune sacrifice any drivability or reliability?

Depends on what tune you are talking about.

Stage 0, zero issues with either. If anything, I would say both are better
Stage 1, very safe and same drivability and reliability as Stage 0.
Stage 2 (beta) drives great, no issues but... we are starting to lean on the engine a little bit. We have not really went much above factory ignition levels, and boosts levels are no where near what the piggys back are running, yet running slower times in the 1/4 mile and Dragy results.

To imply that tuning doesn't sacrifice reliability would be hard for one to determine. We simply do not know the failure point of the engine or drive-train at this point. We have heard of factory cars having issues with fuel pumps, camshafts, turbos, ect. Whats important is that we are developing tunes on cars locally, and I am pushing my personal car very hard right now to make sure we don't have any issues with reliability throughout the whole drivetrain/engine. Hopefully this helps.

Ya but where are they lol... I never see them on any forums or groups. Are they too good to show face hahha.

Why sell it and not use them both. If I ever get to a point where I will flash my ecu without a spare I would want the jb4 for logging.

Agree they don’t seem to be active like that on the forum .... I don’t think is that they think there too good I just think they don’t have the time too and that’s now there world culture to be on forums .... they honestly don’t even have many YouTube videos at all .... they seem to be very passive .... personally I can’t speak for presertech but I have spoke to Todd and he is amazing ..... they might to be on the forum but I guarantee if you call them they will answer on the first call and speak to you for however long they have too in order to answer all your questions and concerns .... there truly Tunning and working on high end cars all the time as well but if you ever get a chance call them for yourself and make your own assessment ...
