Hey all. Id like to talk about what types of mods were going to do to our Stingers. Whether it be the audio system, suspension, drivetrain, lighting or other type of cosmetics. What do you have in store for your Stinger? Ill be doing window tint for sure and depending on how I feel about performance I might follow up with an upgraded intake and exhaust.

  1. Winter Wheels and Tires (the release timing forces my hand) - Not sure what TPMS route I will go yet (purchase a tool or mirror codes).
  2. Some "full coverage" floormats (i.e. WeatherTech)
  3. If the ECU swap is on the table (like it is for the Optima) then I will likely go that route with a Dyno ProTune.
  4. May do paint correction and ceramic coating.

I'd give consideration to an ECU upgrade, just because they're usually cheap, simple, effective, and I perceive them to be pretty consequence free. Plus I don't really expect much of anything else to be available as off the shelf upgrades.

i know i'm going to be anxious to do an ecu swap so that's probably where i'll start. after that intake, exhaust and fmic to turn up the boost even more.

I'm going to start with basic bolt ons like exhaust, intake, maybe even racing seats depending on how comfortable the stock seats are. And if I get the heated or cooled seats feature.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I'm going for:
Outside: tint, roof spoiler
Inside: all weather floor mats, pro clip iPhone base.
Engine: exhaust, pully, ECU flash, 3" pipe

Outside: window tint
Inside: better speakers if needed (sub), all weather floor mater
Engine: I may consider a ECU depending on price

knowing myself, i will want to do a lot but wont do any of it lol. tints is a must. maybe wheels cause the stock ones arent very nice imo. far from ugly but i have an idea in my head i cant really put onto paper that would be better. any performance mods probably wouldnt go beyond intake and ecu flash. itll be powerful enough and i dont wanna make it louder with an aftermarket exhaust

I read somewhere that the Stinger will come with sub woofer under the front seats !!! Someone could corroborate??

I can confirm BMW does this. I currently drive a '15 m235. It doesn't bother me, guess I'm used to it. Sometimes I wish it were louder lol, but the car moves very quickly fake sound or not.

Just WINDOW TINT for me.
I'll be looking for factory avail/fitted floor mats, when ordering.
An ECU re-tune would be something I may look at in the future, but well into ownership.
The GT's H/K 15 speaker hifi systems sounds well enough for my liking, hoping it is as awesome as they describe.
I love the 19" wheels too, no change there for me.

I'm hoping just a few bolt-ons and a tune wake the V6 up. A 3.3 Twin Turbo should be good for well over 400HP. Are there any design specs of this motor anywhere? Like internal materials of pistons and crank? Boost pressures? Anything?

We need to read a review of a Genesis G 90 in order to know more about this engine !!!

my admittedly very limited research hasnt shown much information about the engine. most of the reviews ive seen dont focus much on the performance aspect of the car cause its not as important as the luxury features of that model.

I have not come across any information about forged internals or the like. Maybe once people start tearing them apart. All I have seen is bore, stroke, etc.

I did see mention of the fact that the turbos Hyundai/Kia chose are relatively small (they didn't mention brand, mm sizing, etc.). It was speculated that this was a turbo lag mitigation strategy. So the upper power limit may have a lower ceiling due to the turbos reaching their efficiency limit sooner due to size constraints.

the pictures ive managed to find from google images do show pretty small turbos. they look to be about the size of the stock turbo on my srt-4 which is good for approximately 18psi. anything more than is just not efficient.

Sub woofers are confirmed ... but only on the GT and/or high spec model option, as per here...

I am also pretty keen to "hear" more about this HK quantum logic 9 system, that is not even released yet. I'm sure the need to mod this will be unlikely.

The standard system found in the 3.3-liter twin turbo ups the speaker count to nine and includes an external amplifier. The available premium Harman/Kardon®7 audio system pumps out 720 watts through an external amplifier to provide crystal-clear music. With 15 speakers and Kia’s first under-seat mounted subwoofers tucked beneath the driver and passenger seats, the system features Clari-Fi™8, a patented music restoration technology that rebuilds audio signals that are lost in the digital compression process. This technology returns a high-fidelity listening experience to any compressed digital source. The system also comes equipped with next-generation QuantumLogic™9 Surround Sound technology, which extracts signals from the original recording and redistributes them into an authentic, multidimensional soundstage for playback that is clear, refined and full of detail.

Considering that this motor will/is being used across many vehicles and most being heavier cars, the pickup and midrange is what is going to be more important, so one of the solutions is smaller turbos. I just hope they are big enough to push beyond 400whp with relative ease and with a nice power band.
