Lets talk about mods

Just came across this thread. My mod wishlist is :
1) tint
2) wider wheels and tires. I love wide aggressive stances but not crazy camber
3) intake and exhaust. Mainly for sound but hopefully a turboback kit is made for the car soon
4) coilovers to with my aggressive stance
5) intercooler upgrade if necessary
6) fender flares or widebody kit later on cause I love widebodied cars and I think the stinger would absolutely mean with a widebody

OK, might as well chime in and give you my list of additions and deletions:
Tint
Paint Protection
Snow Tires and Rims
All Weather Floor Covering
Pet Cover for Rear Seats (have no pets, but it will protect the leather)
Turn off Fake Sound
Silence the Exhaust as much as possible (I am paying for a High End Audio System and want to enjoy it!)
Take Off Rear Seat Head Rests
Rust Protection (repeat annually)
I will also look into the electronic hackability of the vehicle, to protect it from theft, even if certain conveniences have to be turned off,
and before you do anything: you may want to consider purchasing a Radar Detector….

Speaking of rear seat headrests, does anyone know if they need to be removed to fold the rear seats down if the front seats are too far back like in the Optima, or do they have joints so they pivot and fold downwards?

As for mods, if I'm spending ~$45k on a new car I'm not doing jack squat to it aside from legal window tint.

Legal Tint and Floor mats + any accessories they may have to start, then Wheels/Tires and Exhaust later on.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Outside: window tint
Inside: better speakers if needed (sub), all weather floor mater
Engine: I may consider a ECU depending on price
I do not think you will need better speakers, from what I understand. And I do believe a subwoof comes with the upgraded stereo system. I have seen a couple different brands of sound systems reported for use in literature I read; Harman Kardon for one, Bermester and Infinity for other possibilities.

Sub woofers are confirmed ... but only on the GT and/or high spec model option, as per here...

I am also pretty keen to "hear" more about this HK quantum logic 9 system, that is not even released yet. I'm sure the need to mod this will be unlikely.

The standard system found in the 3.3-liter twin turbo ups the speaker count to nine and includes an external amplifier. The available premium Harman/Kardon®7 audio system pumps out 720 watts through an external amplifier to provide crystal-clear music. With 15 speakers and Kia’s first under-seat mounted subwoofers tucked beneath the driver and passenger seats, the system features Clari-Fi™8, a patented music restoration technology that rebuilds audio signals that are lost in the digital compression process. This technology returns a high-fidelity listening experience to any compressed digital source. The system also comes equipped with next-generation QuantumLogic™9 Surround Sound technology, which extracts signals from the original recording and redistributes them into an authentic, multidimensional soundstage for playback that is clear, refined and full of detail. It all sounds great to me!

I would seriously consider swapping the chrome-finish outside mirrors and front wheel vents on the GT trim with the body-colored versions that will apparently be standard on the 2.0 Lux trim. I don't mind a contrasting color like black, but the chrome looks a little gaudy to me, at least in the pictures. The trick on the mirrors would be if the cap is a separate part, or if the entire mirror has to be purchased.

Window tint and LAP3/Pross ECU canned tune (and whatever other little add ons) that will assist in power within moderation. Similar to my current 2015 Optima SXL now.

I'm a closet wagon guy. Hatches are my compromise due to limited wagon availability in the US, and the female-repellent factor.

I'm very much out of the closet when it comes to wagons. I really think the SUV trend was something marketed and pushed on the American public by the people who stood to make a profit from it. I don't know anyone who thinks they're any cooler or sexier than wagons. Someone made a photoshop of an Optima wagon in 2012 and it looked great. Then Kia made an Optima wagon that looked pretty good too, but of course wouldn't sell it to us. I would absolutely prefer that wonderful mock-up of a Stinger GT wagon if it existed.

So who do we see about getting a Stinger modded into a wagon? :)

my initial thoughts
1) Exhaust, since i hear the OEM versions sound very tamed.
2) Wheels. Square set up. APEX ARC 8s or something that's simple easy to clean.
3) full vinyl wrap, something matte.
4) All weather mats.
5) Replace KIA badges to E badges.
6) State legal tint
