Kia offers aftermarket sway bars. So, WTH? The dealership installed my Eibach sways. If they subsequently told me that a failed shock is no longer under warranty because of the sway bar I'd be mightily pissed off.

Several forum members have confirmed that Kia has offered the Eibach sway bars and will even order them for you.

it's definitely an option in canada.... but i've not seen it officially on kia usa sites... i'm sure some dealers will order and install though seeing as our neighbors do? ...

Sorry to revive an old thread, however I too experienced a knocking noise upon acceleration and changing between 2nd and 3rd gear. Last week, I floored it at a roundabout and I heard what I can only describe as a gunshot in the car. I had obviously broken something pretty catastrophic. One of the rear diff mounts had completely sheered off. The reason for this... One of the two bolts that hold the diff in place had corroded and snapped, this was the knocking I was hearing. Had to replace the whole diff (brand new they're £4,000 + labour). Car was out of warranty by two months. Fronted the bill. I love my stinger but after this, it's gone!

This literally just happened to me last Friday. Same exact sound. The right rear diff mount completely sheered off (the diff broke where it attaches to the mount). Kia wants $5k for parts and $2.5k for labor. I open a case with corporate because this is not normal

sheered off bolts from corrosion sounds like KIA could refuse warranty of the powertrain because the owner has let salt and moisture collect instead of cleaning off the undercarriage regularly. The owner's manual specifically says to do that, iirc it says at least monthly.
