Kia Stinger va Audi S5..dun dun dun…

Interesting! Being in my brothers S5 the transmission is so damn fast I just assumed.
The A5 has a dual clutch the S5 has a regular auto, interestingly, in the previous generation, it was the opposite.
 
TBH this channel is one of most worse I have watched about stinger.

1) This guy have no idea how to drive stinger in dig/drag. Also his friends? Pls just look carwow and do the same thing...

2)with JB4 and WMI I think I can beat stock B9 RS5 ,I beated a Stage2 Supra+light weight wheel so I guess it wont be problem. Stock VS Stock? watse time. Stinger will lose.

3)And his words, really really boring. Most street race video is better than him. And wonder know just they cannot affrod TWO Dragy or V-BOX or that will tell they can not drive?(like why not provide the time.speed for each run.)

I think you’re missing the point of the video.

1) It’s suppose to be stock vs stock in a real world comparison with real world driver. Not a tuned vs tuned bc the average consumer doesn’t tune their car. Stock Stinger vs Stock S5 Sportback should be close, with a Stock RS5 walking away.
I agree JB4 with CAI, WMI will make the Stinger a contender with an RS5, but again that’s not the point of the video.
B) He’s not at a drag strip to pound his chest to a crowd with a strip of paper to prove his reaction time, etc. He’s at a closed venue so it’s done in a safe, consistent, and controlled environment. I like him because he appreciates the Stinger like most of us here do.
IV) I think you should make a video with all your comparisons and post it so we can see how you think it should be done. I’d like to see the comparison.

And for Point B, the point is he didnot know how to drive stinger fast. Stinger is AT for sure but that trans is bad(compare with Audi and BMW), whether LC or roll need more exp to do better. For sure this guy do not know how to do that.

If the time is provide, for example, if he run 1/4 in 13.5, people will know how bad is his dring but not the car`s problem(like most can do high 12s.

And for part IV), my local drag track open detail is still TBD in july due to COVID. I have alreay conted them to see how will it. but it will only for purpose tell myself how things work, and how fast every one in a certin condition. I will not make money on the video. that`s the different. Point his channel is boring and bad with quality do not rewrite book to compare. If I said B9 RS5 is better than F8X M4 donot need I made a C63 in my house to have ability to say that.

Stay compare his video and carwow.
Carwow: do LC run, provide 1/4 times, in a more "safe, consistent, and controlled environment", the talks is more intersting and fun for watching;
50 sport run--have walkie-talkies to Synchronize, make sure every one have same speed on dash and hold the best RPM range.

I understand but THIS video was S5 to Stinger, not RS5. It’s a YouTube channel for regular people, not racers.
 
I am not the biggest fan of Sam, but he does have Stingers on often, and he does have access to a lot of cars. The drag races are not to the level of Carwow (really how many channels are??) but they do give you a pretty good idea how the cars perform.
It is pointless to say "with this mod, the Stinger would beat car X", since if car X had a mod, it would probably beat the Stinger again. Stock vs Stock is by far the best baseline measure of a car's performance.
As for launching the stinger, it looks like he knows how, but his reaction time isn't the greatest. Overall, his channel is better than anything I could put on YouTube. If someone thinks they can produce Carwow level youtube content easily, go ahead, you are probably very wrong.

Yep, zf is the big name in the game .. probably the biggest "upgrade" going to the BMW or Audi is the zf 8 speed in those . Kia/Hyundai 8 speed isn't bad , just doesn't have the years of experience under their belt yet ..
First, to this point. I can say 100% that the ZF-8 transmission is definitely a main reason the Supra performs the way it does. If the Stinger tranny was this responsive and this precise, my decision would have been that much more difficult......of course, the Stinger "technically" should not shift this way as it is not really a 'sports" car.....(don't kill me....)

Now to THIS point.....Dont take this the wrong way @NSHFXstinger, but since weed is legal up there, you must have a BONG as tall as you are (and I don't know what your height is) and took one helluva hit before hitting the "post reply' button.......Really, an RS5????? or did you mean "S5"????

Either way, you also talk "blasphemy" about busting a Stage2 Supra????? It must have been a '20 model as the '21's are still NOT capable of being tuned. Trust me, I know but again, that statement must have been after the second hit you took.....even the first gen RS5 (2013) was more than a handful for the Stinger......

Hope you enjoy your Stinger as it is a fantastic car BUT PLEASE "STAY OFF THE WEED!!!":)

1)Its A90 not A91. But I am not big fan of BMW so I am limited to what`s different between 91 and 90. Also,even the new Supra is support OBD flash , not BM3 but yes it could be tune.

2) THIS GUY UPDATED A STINGER VS RS5 B9 VIDEO FIRST.

And first gen RS5 (2013) if you talking B8 V8 version, it is slow.
RS5 is not fast for B8 . S5 V6SC Satge 2 with pully is quick in B8 Audi family. also B8 RS5 do not have much room to tune.
I sold my B8 Audi and and got Stinger. If you thought B8 RS5 is fast it really you have no idea about Audi B8 A5/S5/RS5.

I have no idea why you bring weed into this? But confidence is good but too much confidence is not always good.

Anyway, I root for the Stinger so if it can go toe to toe with an RS5, then good. I have seen them in action (RS5) and this is why I am apprehensive....

Also, the '21 Supra's still can't be unlocked....'20's can all day....

I don’t think the aero helped and the S5 actually had CAI, so if anything the Stinger was probably quicker all around.

Just for the record, CAIs on S5s don't make a power/time difference. They're basically just noise generators.

There's a guy on one of the S5 forums that made a few videos of various types of intakes on his S5. He started with stock intake modified to allow fresh air in (no difference on the dyno or track). He went onto an aftermarket intake and LOST hp. He eventually just returned to the aftermarket intake and slapped his stock intake back on.

The lesson learned in this video: if you drive a Stinger and want to race an S5, tell the S5 driver to put his car in comfort mode.
