This guy is a big fan of the Stinger if you have seen his vids..pretty good comparo
I don’t think the aero helped and the S5 actually had CAI, so if anything the Stinger was probably quicker all around.Great review and two fantastic looking cars!
I wish both of them were stock with the same tires though... would also be very curious to see how a Stinger GT that was RWD would have taken on the S5...
I am also so curious how the aftermarket aero on the Stinger helped with the race...

not that significant if you are good with a entry level s5 vs gt2 stinger for those who care more about the badge than features... s5 starts around where the stinger gt2 tops out (52k). A fully optioned out s5 tops out right around 68-70k though so it can grow.Is the cost difference between an S5 and Stinger GT is significant? I would assume so since Audi's are expensive.
Just rebadge it to a Maserati…not that significant if you are good with a entry level s5 vs gt2 stinger for those who care more about the badge than features... s5 starts around where the stinger gt2 tops out (52k). A fully optioned out s5 tops out right around 68-70k though so it can grow.
No. You have to step up to the top trim or middle trim s5 to get the adaptive dampers, 360 cam , adaptive cruise, etc. Of course the Audi does get you a few more features like the 3d cockpit cluster, matrix led with laser headlights etc butThat's not as bad as I thought. Does a base S5 have all the extra features of a GT2?
Gotcha, makes me feel good I got such a great deal on my GT2 then.No. You have to step up to the top trim or middle trim s5 to get the adaptive dampers, 360 cam , adaptive cruise, etc. Of course the Audi does get you a few more features like the 3d cockpit cluster, matrix led with laser headlights etc but
That's a shame. If it has a 12v outlet suppose you could always buy a charger adapter. No where close... doesn't even have a rear seat USB charger
The stinger actually still caught up and won on the second roll when he took off betterYou'll almost never find an S5 on a lot for under $60k from what I've seen, so that starting price doesn't mean much.
Not gonna lie I skipped through the vids, but on the rolling starts he could have manually downshifted to a proper rev range, not just stomped on it waiting for the downshift. The Audi will win every time using that technique because of its dual clutch.
Actually the S5 has a traditional torque converter automatic (ZF 8 speed), but it is a fair bit quicker responding than the automatic in the Stinger. You'll almost never find an S5 on a lot for under $60k from what I've seen, so that starting price doesn't mean much.

Interesting! Being in my brothers S5 the transmission is so damn fast I just assumed.Actually the S5 has a traditional torque converter automatic (ZF 8 speed), but it is a fair bit quicker responding than the automatic in the Stinger.
Yep, zf is the big name in the game .. probably the biggest "upgrade" going to the BMW or Audi is the zf 8 speed in those . Kia/Hyundai 8 speed isn't bad , just doesn't have the years of experience under their belt yet ..Interesting! Being in my brothers S5 the transmission is so damn fast I just assumed.
