Kia Stinger U.S. sales numbers

I think it's already a success. It got the attention Kia wants. The negative is enormously outweighed by the positive attention. They are going into 2019 with momentum. I don't expect the total sales to rival more common utility vehicles: SUVs in particular; but also sedans like the Optima. The Stinger will never appeal to that large of customer base. But it will be seen and recognized, all to Kia's advantage. That's the near future as I anticipate it.
In the first year, it is already selling about the same rate as the KIA Mini-Van.

1173 sold in November.

Kind of a low number given the fantastic deals available on leftover 18's. I got one of them by upgrading to a premium from a base. Wow, didn't realize all the extra gadgets I was missing.

KIA needs to do an ad on the AWD version and show some winter driving capabilities. I ran across a guy that seems interested in one but thought they came only RWD, when I mentioned mine is AWD, his eyes lit up. More people in my area buy the AWD version of the European brands and based on how the weather has been here as of late, it is also a reason why Subaru sales in this area has sky-rocketed. Never mind that winter tires will get you through the white stuff no matter if you have FWD, RWD or AWD, most folks think that just AWD will do it, so why not market the Stinger's AWD prowess as well.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
In the U.S. apparently the only ads being run are on NBA basketball games on TV. I don't follow the NBA so I haven't seen them but the report is the same ad as they ran at the Super Bowl football game in January.

You're so right. I got the Stinger GT in RWD because I specifically wanted it that way, but with the knowledge that I'd be putting Blizzaks on it for the Winter. Hasn't snowed yet but it's been pretty cold and the tires have been great so far. People who need or even think they need AWD should know it's available on these cars.
