Kia Stinger TPMS Valve

That's interesting. I had mine mounted at Costco, and the service tech programmed the car. They had some device, and he went around all four corners scanning near the wheel (saw him do it), then plugged it into the OBD (I think, as I couldn't see from the service area). Anyway, after driving for 5-6km over 40km/h then the display for the pressures showed up on the dash.

I ordered the Kia OEM part from Amazon.com. Out of the blue, I was refunded $13 for import fee deposit that was over estimated. :)
If you supplied them with the OEM TPMS sensors, then I suspect whatever he did served no useful purpose. My winter tires were installed on new rims without the car even being there, and the ebay purchased OEM TPMS sensors installed at the same time.

The winter set sat on a rack in my garage for several months before being installed, and had no problem synchronizing with the car (automatically) when I finally put them on.

Ok - I will report back when I do my switch out

I can confirm that the sensor packaged as Hyundai Genisis is the same part number for the Stinger, they were fitted yesterday & are functioning perfectly.upload_2019-6-28_8-43-9.webp

Hi

Already planning for new wheels for next summer (leaving original rims for winter tires) so looking at the TPMS also.
Does anyone perhaps have experience which ones on the UK Amazon are right? I found something that was made by Tiraoo specifically for the Stinger and then something for Hyundai Genesis that had quite identical part number as in the OP.
Cant unfortunately post links..

I have a slightly dumb question - will the ones I found on amazon work? They are part number 52933-C1100, they look similar and have the first part of the number. Also look to be 433mHz. I found the ebay ones, but they won't arrive in time.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
For anybody that's interested the part number for the TPMS valve is 52933 J5000. I found them on Ebay for 26.00 American, with shipping it came out to under 150.00 Canadian for four. My Kia dealer said to buy them because they figure they'll be over 100.00 each if he orders them.
Cheers

I got mine from eBay out of Korea. Came in Kia boxes. Cost was $110 Canadian with free shipping. Only took 7 days. Work perfectly

I told my dealer I can bring in some sensors (edit: OEM genuine part #52933j5000) . They told me “we can’t guarantee the sensors will work because the software they have ONLY works with items from Kia Canada.”

Anyone else smell malarkey?

According to Kal Tire they can program any aftermarket sensor. However with the Stinger it is possible that the actual pressures won’t display. Only the warning light will work. Did you see my post about getting genuine Kia sensors from eBay out of Korea. Cost C$110 with free shipping and they worked perfectly. No programming.

Big load of BS to me, I purchased a 2nd Set from South Korea Genuine Kia, they arrived in Hyundai Genesis boxes, I questioned the seller & they said no problem same part, my wheel guy fitted them no problem & they work fine.
Me thinks your dealer is trying to insult your intelligence.
I paid approx. AU$145.00 for a set of 4 delivered.

That is what I told them I was buying. Genuine Kia parts. After their reply, I told them that assuming their customers were not intelligent is not a smart thing to do.

Sadly, your link is sold out of product. So I’ll have to dig a bit and find some more.

Just like my dealer telling me that 18” wheels will not fit for winter tires. Some dealers have no scruples

Not necessarily.
I know that not all sensors work the same, and in addition to that work on various frequencies. I also know that there are within the KIA Brand different sensors used for different cars. And when you look up the part numbers, the sensors have different shapes.
One could assume, that a car manufacturer would use the same TPMS sensors for ALL their cars. But that is not so.
In your case - it's your car and your choice. Good luck.:)

So are you saying a genuine Kia part with the same part # (52933j5000) may be a different part?

Sorry, my bad - I did not see the KIA part no. Why were you asking then for a link to purchase?
Of course, use these, if they worked before. Genesis 70 uses them too. Are you getting the tires from the dealer or 3rd party?
If the dealer is giving you a hard time, go somewhere else. You seem to have the right part.
In respect to previously mounted sensors, they can be tested - before installation. Again, Good Luck!:)

Since my tires are already on the rims, putting in new TPMS sensors would entail the tires coming back off, rebalancing, and then reinstalling on the car.

Am I correct in this assumption?

As far as I know the wheels have to be removed and the tyres deflated completely. The tyre does not have to come off the wheel entirely. Deflating gives the installer enough room to get to the sensors. You are correct about rebalancing and installation
