Kia Stinger Legato Carbon Fiber Hood

For an aftermarket hood it fits pretty good
It all depends how they make it. My seibon had worse fitment then my ark. Some people say theirs fits great but some have serious gaps. I was part of the #hoodgap gang untill I got my ark. There are things that you can do to help with fitment but still. Lol we had a little joke with the NorCal stingers on who should change their car plates to HOODGAP. There is some things you can do to help the front fit better but it involves a drill.

interesting. so basically youd wanna buy it from a store that will replace it/ let you return it if the fitment is super off. Im def going to pull the trigger on this hood unless they come out with another one similar or have a group buy to make a diff one cheaper.

The vent lines up with the fan, so it isn't dripping on the engine or anything buy maybe blown by the fan when it is running.
Have you ran into any shaking issues yet at high speeds (100+mph) where you need hood pins? Im on the fence getting Ark Performance S-FX Carbon Fiber Hood

Sorry, I'm late to this conversation, but I've had this hood (ARK Legato) for over a year now. I went back and forth at least 10 times on hood pins. I finally caved this past weekend and installed them.

My hood would sometimes "flutter" at low speeds, especially on a windy day. At 80mph even with no wind, I started to get a little nervous, so nervous in fact that I have never cracked 100mph in this car. I think that's somewhat the nature of these fiberglass hoods...they are so light weight, that even hitting bumps in a neighborhood can make the hood flex a bit. I have no other experience with aftermarket lightweight hoods, so I cannot say if the hood was about to fly up or if I could do 150 mph with no worries at all, but I definitely don't want to find out the hard way. Under the hood, I found the flat area where the stickers are on both sides made a great location for the pins. These locations also ensured that the latch was mounted on a flat section of the hood as those ARK hoods have quite a few curves to them.

I went with the Quik Latch QL-38 pins. They're pricey, but have excellent long term reviews. My hood doesn't budge anywhere up front now. I can still see a little flex at the back of the hood by the windshield, but I think that's completely normal for a lightweight fiberglass hood.

Did you have to call ARK to order or did you order online??

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Did you have to call ARK to order or did you order online??
I actually ended up ordering through Import Shark. I will caution that they have been ripped to shreds in this forum for poor customer service, but my experience went well. The only hiccup was 5 days after I placed my order, they emailed me back saying ARK had raised their prices by $200. They were willing to eat $65 of the difference and pass $135 on to me. Normally, I would've walked, but they still had the best price by far as the shipping is free. I told them they would have a deal if they would throw in the low pressure hood struts for $40 (normally $70) which they agreed to. So I got the hood & low pressure hood struts for $1,350 all in.

I kept a spreadsheet of a few vendors that carried this hood at the time as the big players never got it back in stock. Here's some links.

Ark Performance Legato Carbon Fiber Hood

Strictly Business Motorsports - $1,549
JM Auto Sports - $1,358
KDM Project - $1,368
Import Shark - $1,375 (includes shipping...not sure about other vendors)

I was also checking out this hood at one point. If I had found the Night Motor Sport link prior to tonight, I may have went with this hood...Looks great

SBGT M Carbon Fiber Hood

Strictly Business Motorsports - $1,823
Night Motor Sport - $1,292
