This 100%. Kia doesn't market the car properly at all. It may be a "halo car" but it's not an exotic, and it's not from a brand people associate or trust for performance. There should be ads that just show this car beating rivals on a drag strip, show it drifting, get some Charger and A5 drivers in one and blow their minds. It's like Kia is afraid of rocking the boat or something.
They actually did hold a big press event with a ton of YouTube reviewers, and big names like C&D, etc. I believe they had the A5 there, along with a 3 series or 5 series and a Panamera. The problem is that was over 2 years ago and now long forgotten.
To break into the luxury market is not an overnight success, it takes years and lot of cost do to so. I think the question is whether Kia is willing to try that hard, or if the long term luxury plan will be exclusive to Genesis, and any other luxury offshoots will be derivative of Genesis vehicles (shared chassis).
