3.3TT Kia Stinger Aftermarket Exhaust Information and Discussion

I cant tell much difference in the open and closed valves. Most evc exhaust I have heard sound similar. There are others that will sell you a evc. I chose Kunstwerk and love it and they are very good to deal with and have an upgraded valve system that works very well.

I prefer to run in stealth mode myself and I think the RCP adds just the right amount of low frequency growl without challenging the CHP to whip out the decibel meter every time I'd run up an on-ramp. And to me the open valves sound great too - not excessively loud, nice and deep, and no rasp at all. Of course I've only heard the various aftermarket exhaust notes via YouTube vids so I make sure I keep the obligatory grain of salt close at hand...

Ur best bet is the borla, little to no dampening in the borla muffler. And going catless will help too. Mine gurgles for about 1/4 mile slowing down from 40 locking in 3rd gear then downshifting to 2nd gear when it drops below 1500 rpm just with borla catback.

It will not crackle pop like an M car with M performance exhaust though, that's purely ECU tuning, lap3 has a crackle pop tune for the car already, video up on youtube.
Truly love the Borla exhaust sounds on my Stinger GT

Boy it sounds like Cali is hard on car people. Is it really that bad out there?

Noise regulations focusing on motorcycles went into effect a few years back when I was riding but loud cars/trucks went largely ignored, but it's CA so I hedge my bets on the side of oppressive regulation, especially here in San Francisco where they're essentially trying to regulate cars into obsolescence, all while happily charging $4.50/gallon on the journey toward extinction.

Can you tell I'm originally from the East Coast? :D

Do as you please down here or at least in NSW. You have to be pretty stupid to get pinged here. In my mind exhausts have got quieter in the last 30 years. In the 70s and 80s everyone had V8s ,not many doing them now.

Interested in the Borla S-Type exhaust. If you're looking to sell it, please ping me.

Ryan , the Borla I have makes some ok pops when I get close to stopping with out the out braking just letting the compression slow me down , it sounds nice just do let it do it around the Po PO he he

Good to know. Do you have the Borla S-Type exhaust Supposedly less drone. Good reviews on K8Stingerstore. Looking to pick one up used and save a bundle.

My muffler deletes do and it’s sounds amazing.:D Also most catbacks will give you mild pops and crackles while slowing down too.

Edit: Just to clarify. I’m describing mild pops & crackles or gurgles opposed to the ECU added pops & bangs people do on purpose to sound like gunshots.

And here’s a short video of the deep rumble and Maserati’ish type roar under throttle from my muffler deletes.
This is definitely not what people usually refer as pops and crackles. I hear nothing special either.

I was very interested in the MBRP, but

1. long shipping delays
2. unsure about performance
3. having no quiet mode

make me consider making a custom bi-modal exhaust

X-Pipe with no resonator
2.5" or 2.75" piping
no chamber
JunBL valve

Anyone had a custom made bi-modal catback here?

That video is just a cold start with a little revving and doesn’t have any deceleration pops & gurgles.

You must be talking about the “pops & bangs” people get tuned for that sound like gunshots. That’s completely different than pops, crackles or gurgles most aftermarket exhausts & muffler deletes produce.

2. unsure about performance
FYI- According to K8 It’s been dyno tested it and shows gains of 15hp & 7tq just from their exhaust.

Any chance we can mod our Stingers to sound like this? This sound is amazing with the pop, cracks, burbles, you name it. This sound is leaps and bounds better than any exhaust I've heard for the Stinger. I need this. It's not a want it's a need. Enough for me to consider selling my Stinger and buying a used Audi RS3.

Yep, 5-cylinder engines have a unique sound to them, enhanced by this special ehxaust system. Four of my previous cars were 5-cylinder engines. Nice, but would always take a straight-6 over them :) V6 is tolerable.

For me the Audi has a bit more pop than I like, but then I am crazy with my Borla exhaust,

Just on another note, My June BL pipes which removes the secondary Cats which I added after the Borla cat back exhaust, has too much flow , as mine will over spool /over boost at 3 k under a heavy push on the acceleration, so it would be interesting to see if any other s experienced this In their AWD Stinger GTs , my only thoughts is if the settings in the ECU can be readjusted. I am using a Race chip with their most aggressive mapping they have , but with the secondary cats off it over spools and I have to back off the fuel ⛽️, now I am running milder setting on the chip and no problems but if not for over spool/boost , these cars are a Beast :) just my thoughts on this :)

Do you have removed the primary cats as well?
