I just came across a 2.0T downpipe from shedskills. The site is Russian. Does anyone know about this part or company? I know this is a 3.3TT thread so I'm sorry in advance.
And using Google translate, looks like that shedskills downpipe is the pipe direct from the turbo that replaces the O2 sensor and primary cat? Probably not one you'd want unless you have an advanced tune.
What were you looking at when you saw only one? I took a look under my car yesterday and I see the same cat as what's in the attached photo, which is a comparison of the stock 3.3 downpipe and the Ark downpipe. My assumption is this is still the secondary cat and the primary is hidden up under the big shroud covering the pipe directly out of the turbo.
At any rate, I'm heading to a custom shop sometime in the next week for them to take a look and see if they can do a custom downpipe for me. They should find out for sure what's under the skirt so to speak.

Idk. I only saw the flex piping and then before the turbo is the cat. Only one on my car. Exhaust guy said thers no 2nd cat for my 2.0T. Keep me updated on what you find out

Yes it is. It's the first part of a Stinger's aftermarket catback exhaust, the other part being the mufflers (axle-back). I, too, am wondering why would anyone ONLY replace the midpipe?!? It's seems pretty obvious, now, that you either replace the secondary DP (the one with 2 secondary cat on it that fit right onto the primary cat) or the catback (the one that fits right on to the secondary DP all the way through the exhaust tip) or both...but just the midpipe? What's the benefit from that?
Also, anyone replace their axle-back only? Not with a custom muffler delete, but with a proper axle-back aftermarket system?
Noob here as well. So for people who do a muffler delete or cat delete do the pipes that replace these serve a purpose? Seems like you could save hundreds to just take these off and not replace with anything.
Well, to be honest, I was told theres 2 cats on a 2.0T and that this was goinf to take out one of them. Because I assumed without checking under the car myself, I got the mid pipe. There's no purpose to what I did. I do like how sexy it looks underneath but thats all I got. I got a deal for it so that made it a little better also. My next step is trying to figure out what mufflers to buy and get a variable switch system. I like idea of having it quit and loud at a flip of a switch.

Yep, I'm looking at the possibility of a switch myself. Shop guy recommended just cutting a section prior to the split and putting the valve there. Would definitely be the cheapest option, tho it would probably be quite loud too without a muffler or resonator. If I can't get comfortable with that, I'll probably just decide on a modest catback system (leaning towards Jun BL or Magnaflow).

I figured finding a racing muffler and a smaller version of a stock muffler would be the best. Is just buy a turbo muffler and then have a straight pipe option. Ok. I just cant spend a large amount of money at once. I can do it broken up thou.

I asked her name and in a dark brown voice she said, "WHAAAAARRRRRRLLLLBBLBLBLBLBLBLB"
B-OR-L-A Borla
I just put the Borla catback and SSR pipes on tonight and I gotta say, the videos didn't really prepare me for how loud this setup is. But I love it. Sorry, neighbors.
