3.3TT Kia Stinger Aftermarket Exhaust Information and Discussion

I have looked for those better sounding clips. Currently have not found any.
What exhaust are you looking for? I have the Jun bl evc exhaust not the sport one.

I meant to say that I have looked for better video/sound clip of the Jun B.L exhaust.

Do you have Dropbox? Sorry Jun is the premiere manufacturer for kdm. Know for proformance and quality in that community.

I have no drop box. I probably will purchase a Jun. I just wanted to hear it first. However, sound isn't as important to me as is power gains. (But if the new exhaust sounds like a Honda with a fart can, I will look for something else)

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
If anyone wants to know. I have a tubistyle exhaust and I am very happy. Once I get the car reinspected u will install the down pipes and can offer a sound clip in all modes...if interested.

Another vote for the Tubistyle exhaust. I have the catback and the sound is great.

Will I loose low end torque (if yes, how much if I go for any of these)?

Not at all. That is only a downside on NA engines.
If anything you will gain some as you will be removing restrictions from the turbo.

All Dyno charts start at ~2-2.5k RPM so that made me little worried.

Which one is quietest? (I don't like loud sound)

Nice going to see if I get a shop in ny to do it for me. Also the black tips look nice
sounds very nice indeed ,but for me I am thinking of ordering a Borla cat back exhaust to back up my RS chip :)

Sorry if this has already been covered but 22 pages of discussion is a bit long so I'll ask it now. I've had my GT for about a month now, I've got the dealer fitted bi-modal exhaust and I'm quite happy with the sound when in "open" mode, but I am wondering what triggers it, is it boost, throttle position, revs or soothing else? I've been told that getting the wires through to the valve is as big a job as fitting the plumbing, where does that wire go?

Is it in open in sport mode only?

Don't know that as I only drive it in "sport". My stinger is not my daily driver, its my "fun" car, I'll HAVE to go for a drive to experiment ! (Any excuse will do).lol.:)

Here in Oz it's an option from the dealer, it's locally made I think. Nice note but not aggressive.

It's throttle driven and will open in most modes but sport would be the most popular. I've set up custom as engine in sport and the rest on comfort and find this gives a better ride on some of our shitty roads. For more aggressive driving sport is the way to go. The system is manufactured for KIA by Lumen in Hallam. The installation requires removal of the dash to run electricals so it's a fairly labour intensive job.
I had a retaining pin on the valve actuator work it's way off and KIA insisted on replacing the whole system as a "genuine" pin was not available as a spare part.
Here's a pdf of the various modes.

Thanks Shannon, Wow! Most concise answer ever!:) the pdf makes it much easier to understand the modes. You wouldn't happen to know if the valve is open or closed with no power to it? ( I may disconnect it if it's open). The note seems loud when starting, then drops down a few seconds later. It seemed to change at about 3000rpm, the chart says 2900rpm, so its working as designed. I wonder why "sport" isn't open at all times! Do you have a theory ? Cheers, Peter .

Hi Peter, I dont know the valve position if electrics were disconnected so it might be a case of experimenting if you can get under the car whilst running. There's a plastic power connector on each side that you can get to without too much difficulty. A bit of a roar on startup seems normal and then a throbbing when drive is engaged. I don't know why sport isn't always open, perhaps so you can creep along without too much noise.
