So are the AWD models generally quicker than the RWD? What is the weight difference? How are the RWD cars launching on the stock tires? One of the JB4 features I want to get up and running ASAP for RWD cars is boost by gear, to lower peak boost in say 1st and 2nd gear to improve traction.
 
RWDs are quicker than AWD by about 2 tenths. AWD run 2 pounds more boost but not enough to overcome the extra 200 lbs and drivetrain loss. Both cars are slow off the line running 1.95 to 2 second 60 foot times for both AWD and RWD. Cars this fast would typically be 1-2 tenths faster in the 60 foot.

Using launch control with stock tires on the default map there is no loss in traction. With map 2 it breaks the tires lose.

Traction and stability control off hit the brakes and gas.

Would be nice if we could get a couple tenths back in the 0-60 ft. If it's a deliberate factory torque limit, though, I wouldn't want to tear up the drivetrain as a result of raising/bypassing it. :eek:

First time to track with the Stinger. AWD, LAP3, K&N intake and Borla exhaust. Best was 8.436 @ 85.77mph in the 1/8th.

On launch control every time and never left higher than 1600rpm. Coming out of the gate...it fell on its face for a split second each time. Once it would get going...it moved fairly quick.

Will look to head out to the 1/4 track soon.

What was your temp and altitude?
 
Has anyone tried to setup custom mode with sports mode for engine and transmission, then "launching" via brake torqing? Does this activate launch control? If not, this might be a good way to spool up those turbos for a harder off the line launch.
 
yes, It does activate LC

I also tried in comfort mode with brake torquing it and it doesn't go into LC but still limits it to 2K

You can do that in Sport if you dont disable stability control. Revs to around 1700 rather than 2100. Not fast.
 
I also tried in comfort mode with brake torquing it and it doesn't go into LC but still limits it to 2K
I did a 1/4 mile run in comfort by accident and it was .4 slower.
While using autohold in sport and no power brake is only .03 slower.

I guess waiting for tcm unlock is the only option, I hope tork or any of the tuners figure out suspension tunning as well similar to the edc flash Dinan does for bmw's with adjustable dampers. There is definetly more range to the dampening adjustment, especially useful for people upgrading springs.
 
Has anyone compared 1/4 times for AWD GT while using launch control versus just going at it regularly? How much does launch control really help you get up to speed?
