Drag/Acceleration Kia Stinger 0-60 MPH Times

Looks pretty clean! How much were they? Stay with the stock tires?
They were about $2K with black Friday discount. Took 8 weeks to arrive. Stock tires on 8.5 and 9.5 rims. May go to 275 30s and 245 35s later if I need more traction or maybe for looks.

So like a 45# weight savings? They look good but the factory rims look pretty good too. Why did Kia have to make them so damn heavy!

Yes, 45.6 lbs lighter. Stocks are pretty nice too. I like the gun metal (on blue) over the stocks gray silver combo. Better matches the black chrome.

Take them to a machine shop and have them carve out some of the metal. What could go wrong?
I really need to get my tires mounted on my new wheels, but I'm debating if I should pick up a set of Sport Cup 2 tires in 305 for the rear instead of the 295 PS4S's that I have waiting.

Don't work for Kia but I have a feeling it has something to do with..... $$$$$$$$$

Very interested in how your car launches with 305 sport cup 2s..... I've heard their tread life is less than stellar though, you'll have to give us a review if you get them!

I literally just ordered them 2 minutes ago, lol. Yea I got my brother a set as well and he said they have like 6/32" brand new... not expecting more than 5-8k miles on them honestly.

Who buys performance tires for the "tread life"?

"I love these cannolis, but they go right to my hips." :)

people that buy Stingers lol let's be honest, almost all of us bought this car for one primary reason, bang for buck performance and amenities. I shop my tires the same way! But I'll spend some extra cheddar and sacrifice some treadlife if the performance is that much better.

I suppose. At the end of the day, going fast is expensive. I consider soft/sticky tires that don't last much more than a year to be a "cost of doing business" on a performance car. ;)

What size are your new wheels? And offset? Is your car lowered? When will you have them mounted? Will you do before and after Dragy runs? Mudflaps? When when when? Pics?

  • Front: 19x8.5 +32, 255/35/19 planned (stock rear PS4)
  • Rear: 19x10.0 +47, 305/30/19 planned (Sport Cup 2)
I'm not lowered and I plan to get them mounted probably later this week on the wheels, but not the wheels on the car. We're still getting temps in the high 30s here at night in SC and there's actually snow forecasted next week so I'll be leaving my winter tires on a little longer. I will do a before and after Dragy but only 0-60 (MAYBE 1/8th mile) since pretty much every road here is a 'mountain road' and either sloped or curvy. No mudflaps

Nice! Curious to see what your 1/4 mile trap speed will be with the new wheels - you gained around ~1mph in the 1/8th!
120 :)

@Tonkabob didn't you add a downpipe / midpipe or something too?

Awesome Tim! that 1/8 time is definitely in the area mid 11's. Get some meth on the car and go for broke!
Nah... we want to see how far into the 11's we can go with pump gas and tune :)

I still have to address the launch control throttle limits. I honestly think there is .2 to .5 that can be taken off the 0 to 60 when I figure that out

No meth for me. Too exotic.
The rest of this run resulted in a 11.66 at almost 120.
