Sorry to hear that and yeah traction in the cold sux, especially with the Michelin’s.

What boost by gear(BBG) settings are you using in 1st & 2nd?

Hi Stung ive been using minus 2 or3 in 1st and 1 in second..how bout you? and that was at a prepped track... on the street i just dont stoplight race when the streets have gotten this moist and cold ...Wash

My buddy has had more luck with 4-5 in 1st and 1-2 in 2nd. We constantly test different settings on his JB4 and made a few discoveries.

Seems like Kia has launch control boost set almost perfect for stock tires. Any extra boost in 1st almost always causes wheelspin. Map2 target boost peaks at +5psi so -5 BBG tends to hold traction with minimal spin in 1st. Or short shifting 1st around 4-5k seems to help a lot too.

But I agree, our traction in cold and or wet is basically nonexistent and I personally will be getting the AWD Stinger next time.;)

Thanks for the info Stung ! My take at the 1/8 mile prepped track when I did remember to put it in sport (duh) the car would fall on it face while the other lane would leave hard...that daaaamn traction control !....although in racing the Camaro and dodge srt if only the track was another 200 feet I would have won...its catch up everytime....wait till the 1/4 mile opens up...redemption! :) Wash

I know how to make Terry a rich man......if he's not already...all Terry has to do to the JB4 is figure out a way to adjust the traction control (launch control)...that's all ...end of story....the JB4 will reach all time sales highs...he doesn't have to adjust any other parameter...that's all ,just the traction control...all other forms of tuning fade away....:) Wash

Not bad... Practice makes perfect on this stuff. JB4 map2 is enough power to get in the low 4s on an AWD vehicle. But 91 octane may be holding you back a bit, octane booster or E85 mix for max effort!

Thanks Terry! I plan on doing and E85 mix today. Will post up results.

This is a pretty good 1/8th as well considering i didn't use LC. Traction was bad so used AH.

Looks like the mid-pipes are helping.
No not really, its the wheels. Wheels dropped a tenth 0-60. Mid pipes almost nothing.
It was cold this morning and pulled the spare and had 1/8 th tank. So ran better than my 3.89s the other day. (did 3.89 pre and post mid pipe). With full weight and warmer temps i had been running mostly 3.98, 3.99 with this tune before the wheels.
My prior tune was a little faster down low.

If the stars align i hope to have new 0-60 1/8 and 1/4 mile records tomorrow. Today was on a short track with a hill and a turn.
