Dang - is this for an early buyout, or at the end of the lease? My lease end is coming up - maybe best to sell to CarMax, make a few $$, let them handle it?

I have also noticed the price of used Stingers climbing up... the fantastic deal I got on my Stinger in Florida plus the cash from the settlement makes it tempting to sell the Stinger then see from there... Ironically I might even get into a 2022 GT or a Genesis of some sort...
Oh I meant more selling a car to CarMax for a profit.I think you just contact them with the details of your lease, and they handle the paperwork..
That's what I meant. Get a quote from them, then, if the quote is more than your buyout, give them a call and see if they charge extra for a lease payoff, or whatever. Let's say your payoff quote is $25K, and they offer $27.5K, they will end up paying off your $25K, and cutting you a check for ~$2-2.5K.Oh I meant more selling a car to CarMax for a profit.

Note: ask specifically for the "Dealer Lease Payoff" amount. A dealer will pay less than you do depending on the state, since most states don't charge sales tax on dealer -> dealer transactions. When I sold my Stinger, my payoff was 18.7, the dealer payoff was 17.2. The (Vroom) offer was 18.5, and I profited 1.3k.Nice!
Thanks!![]()

Howdy and welcome. As always, "it's the dealer and not Kia." Your lamentable experience is all about asshats not the company ethic: which Kia is determined to upgrade.I love my stinger, but my experience with Kia dealership and KMF has also been terrible. Immediately refinanced with a credit union. Check has been sent more than 3 weeks ago and they still haven’t cashed it. Honestly I’ve had terrible service all around so I probably won’t get another Kia. This is my first time owning one and I’ve never had a worse time than with them.... Sales person was excellent though. I’ve brought a car from her before from another dealership she worked at so she got me right into a new GT2.
Service department was trash. A mechanic in their service department scratch my bumper and ruined the paint just after I bought it. He then lied and everyone there that he knew me and I was a jealous ex girlfriend. Him and the service manager called me a liar and I basically had to prove my case. Never seen him in my life. Got the whole thing on video and the only reason I haven’t posted it is because they payed for the damage, didn’t report it, payed my first car note, and fired the guy after they realized I had everything recorded...
Just an update. Still no title. Tried another route. Contacted them via Facebook. They had me provide all my info and have heard nothing. I'll be looking at a year in October. The car is being held hostage.Paid my Stinger off in October. 6 months later no title. I call the finance department every 2 weeks, speak to a manager, and escalate the case. By escalate, they literally send an email to the title department. I ask what can we do about this and they tell me nothing beyond sending the email. They have me hostage. I always end the call with "talk to you in 2 weeks." My wife paid her Audi off and had the title in 2 weeks. Love the Stinger, but may have another look at that S5. That is, if I ever get my title.
Can you fill out some kind of "lost my title, but I need a new one" form? How could KIA dispute that?Just an update. Still no title. Tried another route. Contacted them via Facebook. Dang, that's a lot to go through. Hope the car is much better than the service / KMF.I love my stinger, but my experience with Kia dealership and KMF has also been terrible. If you could post your BOS with your personal information redacted, that may give a better picture.Kia finance stopped taking my phone calls, they would just hang up on me. Cash rebate $2750 promised if I financed through KIA, I did and never got the check. Finance charge 0.9% on the contract read 2.9%, trade-in $8500-payoff. $3750 was added to my new contract. There was a summer sales sticker on windshield $2000 off invoice that did not make it on the contract. I took pictures of all deals. The manager told me that I am SOL. I heard that he got fired, he is to good to get fired they just moved him to a different location.
They get annoyed at me while I review all of the paperwork before I sign. I have found issues that you describe. I make them fix them before the deal is done or I refuse to sign and walk out. Any cash rebates need to be taken on the purchase and sales agreement, never wait for something to show up in the mail because it won't.Kia finance stopped taking my phone calls, they would just hang up on me. I just wanted to note that I finally got my title. Someone higher up at Kia called me personally and apologized for the craziness. I received my title by FedEx 2 days later.Paid my Stinger off in October. 6 months later no title. I call the finance department every 2 weeks, speak to a manager, and escalate the case.
