3.3TT KHARTUNERZ - NEW CATLESS SECONDARY DOWNPIPES Ark Performance

I did hit several 12.0s when the temps were in the 70s and the wait times were long. I think I saw 157 degrees on the IAT at its worst. Stinger doesn't like that!

That's literally my point.

The dp comes directly off of the turbo. The mp is in the middle of the dp and catback. The catback is back off the cats....hence catback. The axle back is back from the axle.
No offense but your explanation doesn’t make sense.

The primary DP comes directly off the turbo and connects to the secondary DP(mislabeled MP). Both pipes are essentially the same part just split into two sections. So they both are officially DPs since they are coming down from the turbo before they connect to the actual midpipes. Midpipes always come after the cats and are part of all catback exhausts.

Hope that helps clarify so people stop interchanging or mislabeling secondary DPs(with cats) with midpipes(no cats).

Glad someone else agrees with me :)

No one is picking on the buyer. He has a better sounding car for $500. He also gets average +1 HP and +1 Tq. We are just debating the pros and cons of the part on its speed / HP merits and most people just want to go back to "it feels faster". I agree mine felt way faster and was shocked to see that it wasn't. That raspy angry sound is mean and sounds fast.
Also I think there is one more person getting a before and after Dyno with other mods on the car...
I just don’t understand why you keep disregarding the 10-20wtq gains in the most usable low RPM range. This will make the car “feel” and be quicker on 90% of daily driving. Faster turbo spooling and upwards of 20wtq is a significant gain in performance.

I agree the peak HP gains were minimal and that explains why 0-60 & 1/4m aren’t much different. Both those runs will only go through the 2750-4250RPM range once in 1st gear so the extra ~20wtq won’t be enough to make a difference.

However I bet all other acceleration would be quicker overall, especially at partial throttle and when short shifting.

So secondary DPs don’t only make it sounds better, they provide noticeable gains in performance except in the last 2k RPM closer to redline. That may not be important for anyone focused on track times only, but most people will enjoy the extra performance, as well as the meaner sound.

Yes there are 10-20 Tq gains at fairly narrow low RPM. I wouldn't say this is the most usable range. You are trying to apply a WOT Tq gain to partial throttle applications in daily driving which you can't do. You could argue a suspected MPG/ efficiency increase I guess. If you go WOT the car will shift and you never use this 2800-3800 RPM range. This car already has tons of power for daily driving and if I need more I push the pedal harder. Dynos are full throttle and performance measures are full throttle so that's what I'm focusing on. I just don't think a partial throttle gain is a real thing as who knows the difference between 40% throttle and 45% throttle. If you do go full throttle short shifting, which isn't a great idea for knock and stress/loads, then you do have a point it is a good mod.

I just need some validation to justify my purchase of secondary down pipes along with a catback when I was very drunk on Monday, so
it is a good mod.
thanks!

ooo your in central Florida what do you have again I might need to come hear it so I know if I need to drunken order anything else for my exhaust.

SSR downpipes (Ark pipes were on backorder) and Borla catback. Should have everything installed on Tuesday. It was a lot of coin to drop just for some noise. But I had been spending most of that day listening to cars that sounded better than mine so it seemed worth it at the time.

On a brighter note, the catbacks seem to be about 10-15 HP so you get to sound cool and go a little faster too.
My ark grip was 10 HP. 2 before dynos from different stingers on the same dyno hit 243, mine hit 253. So assuming my car was average.

There is no way the ARK aren’t making noticeable power. Period. There is absolutely more responsive throttle and it pulls harder to redline. It is a very big difference.

I have the TubiStyle EXCU mid/exhaust. It sounded really good in all four valve modes.

I hate to say this, but the car sounds like a true Italian exotic now — TUBI used an adaptation of their Ferrari 599 exhaust. I will get some video tomorrow.

To top it off, there is less drone. Anyone on the fence needs to jump off and do this. (And I’m not getting paid to say this!)

So to summerize we have Smoofys dyno that shows about 15 tq gain in a narrow band and 0 hp peak gain, +1 hp, +1 tq average. The end of the old locked 1/4 mile thread has a before and after primary cat delete dyno showing 15 tq gains in the low rpm and 3 hp.
I've done 16 speed comparision tests 0-60 and 1/4 mile with no differences in results.
But i do know how to show 30 hp gains with the secondary cat removal! If you dyno the secondary cat delete first then stock second you could see this gain. After putting my stock pipe back on i did add .3 to .4 0-60 for a few days until the ecu adjusted. There you go 30 hp!

This your video?
Kia Stinger Tubi Style Valvetronic Exhaust

Was searching for more info on what you got sounds pretty nice however for me the audio and video in the youtube video seems out of sync to me.
Ya-I screwed up when I edited and nudged the sound track back be assured that as annoying as it, the sound you hear is the TubiStyle.

What altitude are you at? I am 1,048 metres (3,438 feet) above sea level. So I wonder if the higher elevation (less oxygen) impacts seat of the pants feel when you add significant breathing mods such as intakes, downpipes, and open exhaust. Whatcha think?

Yea just listen with your eyes closed otherwise it totally messes with you lol.

Where did you purchase this and how much was it. Looks like possibly $3600+ for axel back which wouldn't replace the mid pipe.

My track is 350 feet. 3000 feet will reduce stock hp as well as mods. Its always about breathing.
