I've had my GT1 in twice for service (Oil), the first oil change (Blend @ 5k miles) was $29, the second (Blend @ 10k miles) was $34. I do not rotate tires. Daytona Beach Kia.
Most likely it was a synthetic blend.I just had my first 6k service done at the dealer. I was a bit surprised it was just over $34. I don't think I could have done it myself for that price. I asked what kind of oil they used and he said synthetic. Same dealer used to charge me like crazy for some of the Optima service visits.
My first service at the dealer, which included the requisite inspections, fluid top-ups, etc. as well as the oil and filter change, was 78 CAD (about 59 USD) including tax.You guys down south are lucky. A synthetic oil change in most Canadian dealers runs just over $100.00 and that is just for the most basic oil change and inspection service. Add anything else, it goes up from there.
Most likely it was a synthetic blend.
Or they reused the filter? Or they used conventional oil? Or labor was complimentary?
$34 is extremely cheap for 7 qts of full synthetic, a new filter, and dealership labor.
I know, older thread. But my post is relevant ...
Paid $135 + tax for my first oil change/tire rotation/multi point inspection.
Depends on the type of tires/rims. Some Stingers were sold with staggered 19 inch wheels and tires, others with 18 inch 'square' setups.I am confused, but I thought the directional / non-symmetrical tread tires (cant move L/R) & different size size front / rear would prevent tire rotation. I got my Stinger used from a dealer who claimed to put a new set of original tires on before my purchase, but I guess I am not certain all OE tires are this way...
If Kia says conventional 5w30 is recommended and it maintains your warranty for 100,000 miles/10 years, what is the point of using the more expensive synthetic? I could understand if it made a cost difference by going longer between oil changes but, I don't see that stated in the owners manual. Am I missing it? All I see is change at 6000 mile or 12 months with no mention of being able to go longer with synthetic oil. Are you really going to own the car longer than 100,000 miles or 10 years?I wouldn't trust dealers either. Conventional oil is min. warranty requirement, so there's a good chance, if you don't ask for synthetic (if you care and want the better oil for your engine), then you're getting conv. oil, possibly, which should at least be SN plus rated and if it is, it's o.k.. but synthetic suppose to also be better for reducing lspi and carbon build up.
I will in Connecticut. The thieving bastards charge you the total tax on the full price of the car!!regardless of trade in!!If Kia says conventional 5w30 is recommended and it maintains your warranty for 100,000 miles/10 years, what is the point of using the more expensive synthetic?
