@tshing02 g or anyone else that might have the answer, would removing the radiator funnel or scoop or whatever you want to call it be detrimental in regards to performance? If so, with what @tshing02 has done, does that seem to still function similarily to how it was stock as far as getting fresh air to the coolers?
I removed mine and didn't have any issues all summer, temps were the same as stock. By the time you chop it up you may as well remove it.

Same here. Also its easy to put it all back to stock later. :D

Good to know on both, thanks guys.

I went through several pages of this thread. And probably missed it. Can anyone running these snorkels comment about driving in rain with them? Does water get inside the air filter box????

I have done controlled testing with a hose and with rain and I have not seen even a drop of water in the factory airbox. Now I didn’t spray water directly into the snorkel as that would definitely get water in there. However, indirect water never seems to make its way into the airbox from the testing I have done.

Unless you are driving in a hurricane or heavy gale situation you will not get any water infiltration into the air boxes. When moving the air pressure caused will pull the rain over the hood. When stopped it will not get passed the grill and if it is blowing directly at the front of the car when stopped it will not get past the lip of the snorkel or at the furthest the first bend. Every car on the road will get some water in the airbox(s) from humidity in the air being drawn in and it is normal. Just do not drive into a body of water then all bets are off.

I got caught in a downpour coming home from the track one night. Rain was so heavy I was going only 30 mph on the highway. I checked my filters when I got home and they were completely dry and there was no evidence of water in the engine compartment.

Thanks for explanation guys! I wanna go with these snorkels, k&n drop in filters inside the stock air boxes that i will wrap with heat reflective mat, and call it a day with air intake. Just wanted to make sure about those snorkels.

If you want to get technical/scientific the Velossa Tech snorkels are more likely to get water in them than the JA snokels due to the more restrictive openning. The air is being compressed sooner and is more likely to get water caught in the air carried into the air box. With the JA snorkels the air gets compressed further back in the snorkel and also ends up being less turbulent so you get better dismemberment over the filter surface. The same goes for the cone filters on a CAI. With either choice you will never get enough moisture to be a issue/concern.

I ran in the 4.4-4.5 0-60 mph range over and over again with that setup yesterday. It won’t make your car incredibly fast. However, for the money this is an excellent way to make a Stinger reasonably quick.D26C34B4-CCA4-4EB3-A857-E557375B6CDB.webp

Seems like they really do make a difference. I like the science of these scoops. I know VT uses fluid dynamics to create there's, does JA do the same or just make it fit?

Tuned? Or any other mods? I will be very happy with 4.5 sec

I simply have the AEM drop in panel filters in the stock airbox($80) and the AirScoops snorkels($150). Those are the only performance modifications I have on my RWD 2019 Stinger GT2.

Go with the AEM panel filters in the stock air box. They are less expensive and I went even faster once I switched from the K&N panel filters to the AEM ones. Plus the AEM ones are dry. They are great in my opinion.
