• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

It's a Kia Stinger , Poor man's Audi A7

I would buy a smallish SUV based on the stinger from KIA in a heartbeat
We were in line to get a Telluride ( for functionality not sportiness !! ) , fully spec'd versions in Canada can take up to 5 months to get and require a factory order .............OK we decided to take a 33 month lease on the new 2020 Sportage SX Turbo ( 240 hp/260 tq ) this is my wifes vehicle but I borrow it A LOT , Albert has worked his magic making this a blast to drive , its no Stinger for sure , but this makes driving fun as well , I can only imagine what he could do with a Stinger SUV ...........................

Porsche , Audi , Bentley , Rolls , Lambo , BMW , Jag , Maseratti , Caddy , Lincoln , etc ........................and possibly Corvette ................all in the SUV game ............didn't someone suggest that Stinger could be a breakway brand capable of a range of vehicle type , including E and SUV ........

Vette Rendering : View attachment 35004 A well strung powerful SUV can be a very fun drive , my old X6 had 480HP and was a blast..............when it wasn't in the shop!!
Power aside, don't you think those Coupe SUVs are just plain butt ugly. And I mean butt ugly...a huge back end. No styling to them whatsoever. Less room than the SUV they were based on. They were the answer to a question no-one was asking.

Honestly I like some of them, the new Lambo SUV is ..............horny !!:laugh::laugh: , BMW lost their way in them though . Audi and Merc look good to me as well !

Yes I agree wholeheartedly. The sedan is a dying breed, even the performance sedan. Just look at the performance SUVs now on the market replacing them. The whole industry has turned around from where it was 10 years ago when the Holden Commodore was one of the biggest selling vehicles in Australia. Just look at the top sellers now. I think there are about 3-4 non SUV/Ute type vehicles in the top 20. Who knows what will happen to the mighty Stinger in the near future.
SUV’s & Pickups rule at the moment, even my daughter & her fiancé just took delivery of a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, 6.2 litre Supercharged Hemi, that thing is a beast.

That's one SUV I wouldn't mind owning.

The Track Hawk's are expensive aren't they ? how much are they Aus currency ?
They're expensive here, I believe they start mid $80k's so more in Aus.

Yes, probably over $100,000 for us then. I won't be getting one !

She must have too much money. They are not cheap.

Trackhawks are nice but you have the problem of them still being a Jeep and all the reliability problems and bad customer support that goes with that. Just ask John Cadogan what he thinks of them. I have a 2012 Cherokee but probably wouldn't risk buying another one.

I responded, no. A smart mans ‘Audi’ and at less than half the price, with great performance and much better lines and tail lights.

I agree - to my eyes, the Stinger looks much better than the A7.

Maybe I'm an exception but I dont want Kia to sell Stingers hand over fist ... I like having something so unique and "exotic"

I completely agree. Stingers are very exclusive. :D

I think that would be a travesty, I think this car deserves to live on and evolve over time. I'm going to need to replace it one day with a new one too.

I'll be replacing this one with a new identical one before this model comes to the end of its run.

If the guy asking the question has to ask the question then he clearly knows FA about cars and shouldn’t be casting aspersions.

Anyone who is a car fan will instantly recognise a Stinger.

IMHO - Audi's are nice when brand new. A money pit soon after. Our Stingers seem to be built better and Kia/Hyundai has a much better track record for reliability than Audi.

If an Audi cost the same as the Stinger, I would still get the Stinger. Audi reliability and customer service SUCK.

Figures quoted for the Trackhawk: 26Lph city- 12lph hwy. Combined 17lph. A bit too thirsty for me Id have to tow a bowzer. Top speed 289kmh.
$134,950 AUD. Two Stingers & loose change.

They traded up from her 2016 75th Anniversary Edition which she had since new with no issues.

They were lucky, Grand Cherokee have plenty of known issues, main reason I traded my SRT on the Stinger. Interior trim falls apart and warps, the 6.4 Hemis love chewing camshafts, water pump failures, mine also did a heater core, had to buy parts from the US as Jeep Australia either didn’t have the parts and/or wanted crazy money. I saved over $1k buying the dash carbon fibre trim (x1) to replace the warped trim, I save $2.5k buying the heater parts from the states.
Don’t own one out of warranty as Jeep don’t want to know you, plenty of cases in the media.
The carbon dash trims have a recall in the states, Australia won’t honour it.
It appears Cadogan is on the money about Jeeps poor customer service here.
