Today a car threw a rock into my windshield and is cracked anyone who has gone through windshield replacement can share which company did you use?
Could you get an OEM glass? Don't want a cheapo glass, anything to worry about techs damaging the car while doing it or is a pretty easy and fast procedure for them?

I used safelite, this was back in 2018 when nobody had replaced a stinger windshield yet. awful experience. took three windshields and two cowls from KIA. is even more of a pain if you don't have a base model and there's sensor calibration involved. also, the metal brackets that the edge trim pieces snap to after reinstallation are pretty delicate and bend quite easily -- wouldn't hurt to make special note of it if it is their first stinger windshield

definitely use KIA oem glass

the dealer voluntarily agreed to replace mine when i bought it because it had a small crack at the base - i might not have even noticed to be honest, so i have to give them props for being honest and a stand-up dealership.

took almost 3 months for the windshield to arrive so they could replace it. no issues with any sensors, etc, so they calibrated everything correctly ...

Yeah, that sucks. I seem to be a rock magnet. Virtually every new (some just new to me) car I drive gets hit with a rock within a month or so of driving it. My 2010 Fusion hybrid got a crack within three weeks. When it was in the shop for extended repairs a couple years later, I had a rental, and the day before I was to turn it in, damn rock. Silly me I didn't buy the extended rental insurance.
I have a 2015 GMC Sierra, and a couple months after buying it new a rock hit it, just a chip at first, but I was on a long trip and it ended up cracking before I even reached my destination. Then a month after replacing that windshield, ANOTHER rock, but only a chip and at least I was able to get it repaired before it spread.
Now in my Stinger, it got a chip just 1 week into ownership, but again, I got it to my window place in time to have it repaired, so far so good since.

Check other windshield replacement companies and check if your insurance will cover. I know the insurance will say Safelite first because it’s the cheapest but they will cover other companies too.

The more complicated the repair the less likely a chain shop like Safelite is going to do quality work. They don't typically pay the best and struggle to retain qualified employees as a result. This follows along the same line of thinking with dealership service centers for the brands that sell cheaper vehicles (Kia included), the pay rate for service techs tends to be lower than with luxury brands. I'm sure there's exceptions but that's been the rule of thumb actual techs in the field have told me and from my experience as a computer tech for a large dealer back in NY who I got to know fairly intimately (and bought several cars from). The strategy for the dealer I worked with was to pay more to the senior techs and have them cleanup the 'messes' the lower techs couldn't fix or created. That's not a unique strategy in the service industry but when applied to car service it creates a lot of problems that could have been avoided paying a fair rate and getting better techs to do the more mundane level work.

Thanks for the insight I will never take my sti ger again to the stealer after they left a wrench in the engine bay and repeatedly overfilled engine oil inspire of me telling them not to, damn they are garbage

i've made peace with it and anytime non-standard repairs are needed I drop it off with a bag full of mcdonalds breakfast sandwhiches and forget it. not worth the years of my life it was costing me obsessing over everything. she's mine with all her faults

Gave a Starbuck gift card to my Audi dealer but instead they damaged the interior leather instead and made me keep the R8 at the dealer for a whole 2 days for a stupid oil change.

No direct experience, but since the Stinger is a low-volume car, it may take considerable time for shop (dealer or otherwise) to get a replacement. My brother-in-law has a K900 that got a rock chip, which spread to become a considerable crack. It took months for him to get it replaced. Maybe the Stinger stock won't be as bad as that.

it should be much better; there are a lot more stingers on the road than k900s. only 6,277 k900 sold 2014 through 2021, 57,606 stingers sold through 2021.
