The cost of having a daily driver. Took all of two weeks to get a chip in my new windshield. Even with my "ill take a ticket before damage" thought process the rocks seem to find me. Pass the rigs and idiots in front of me drift into the shoulder. Had one the other day hit the sunroof. That was a great noiseI would be livid

True story! I've been this train of thought for decades, good or bad. Way easier to miss debris and so on if you have an escape route.since driving the stinger I have adopted several risk reducing measures. I won't follow any vehicle that is carrying something, like a yard crew truck and trailer, or heaven forbid a dump truck, that is when I employ the torque option and go around them swiftly. the distance I maintain to the vehicle in front is much further back than it used to be, I will even fade rather than get too close and risk a rock. similarly, I won't pace any vehicles in lanes to the side of mine, I break the formation quickly. if you unthinkingly drive this way out of long habit the amount of shrapnel hitting your car is greatly reduced.
My rock chip was from a Corolla and the corolla was pretty far ahead... I must have bad luck.since driving the stinger I have adopted several risk reducing measures.
