Is JB4 map 2 on 91 octane premium ok?

Great result Travis. All of my times are with 1ft enabled. Obviously doesn't impact the 80-120kph, but it does for the rest. Compared to your time, mine aren't exactly all that great. You have a much better 0-60 compared to me and I'm AWD and you're not. That makes it even more surprising. I guess MAP 3 really makes that much of a difference compared to MAP 1.
This was actually with an AWD GT2. I traded my RWD Stinger for this one. I just haven’t updated my signature yet.

Map3 is miles above map 1. Map 2 also wakes up quite nicely. Map1 is like doing a chip on a non-turbo car. You can get 5-10 hp kind of thing, and you kind of notice it a bit, but it's not amazing. You need map2+ to really feel it.

I guess it does. Gotta admit though, I definitely notice map 1 vs stock map. The car definitely pulls more, like it has more torque. Highway pulls is slightly better but nowhere near as noticeable. Mid range rpm has the best feels, high rpm feels like nothing changed. Still, I went from stock to JB4 map 1 / ark downpipe / mbrp catback all at once so maybe It's the combination of all of those that gives the map a better impression to me.

Ahhhh, this makes much more sense to me now! Still, significant difference nonetheless. Map 3 is out of reach for me, but I just hope I can get those intakes installed sooner than later so I can test Map 2. Those are like impossible to get for the past 2-3 months lol, unless I go BMS, but I don't want to.

Though.....You say you run Map 3 with stock intake box, albeit with Snorkels, correct?

Perhaps I have a shot at Map 2 with stock intakes. Hmmm, whatcha think?

I want to do map 2 but there's only premium fuel in my area. Would that be okay? I have a 2021 GT2 AWD

I also have aftermarket intakes and heat extractors on the hood to help lower the temperature. I'm new to how tuning and different maps work so I'm not sure if this would have any impact on using map 2 with premium fuel.

Dude you literally asked the same question as I did when creating this topic. Read the replies. You'll get the same answer. Provide logs. Your car may or may not be ok with 91. Logs will tell all.

My current mods are only JB4 @ Map 1 with Denso spark plugs, Ark secondary downpipes and MBRP catback. I am running on stock Intakes, stock Intercooler. I am currently planning to install either AEM, Power Agency, Injen of K&N intakes next month as I know stock intakes currently limit me a bit but it seems like they are all on back order here in Toronto. Maybe I'd be better off waiting to install them until I try MAP 2?
All that and BT adapter for jb4 is too expensive?????

You can run map 3 on stock intakes. The stock snorkels are really the choke point.....If you start adding all the other mods, you may want to get with Burger Tuning W/logs and see where you can really benefit from the additional mods.

It's going to cost another $350-400cdn if we factor in conversion rate, import duty and APP fee. I'd rather spend that money on snorkels, intakes, rear lip spoiler or a rear diffuser tbh, especially since I already have the cable and a laptop. Maybe later if I'm done with mods on my car and I have cash surplus but for now I'm good :)

Yeah I got a little lost regarding whether to use the bluetooth or not so I didn't see a clear answer. My apologies

My bad......my brain only works in "USD" so since you put it that way......I TOTALLY get it. Regardless, take plenty of logs and I get the rational of doing everything at once (already getting dirty in the engine bay) but I would add mods one at a time and do logs after each one.

The feedback will be valuable in getting the max. out of your mods and give you the best return on the "CDN" money.....

I understand your reasoning. However, it is still flawed. I would take being able to read the logs instantly and make changes on the fly over any other modification regardless of price.

Open air intakes are probably going to raise your temperatures and not lower them like most people incorrectly assume. The single most important factor for determining whether you can go up another map or not are your timings. You can't know that without the logs and having the logs there easily and quickly is EXTREMELY important.

I can guarantee you that any modification you do is going to be less effective without the logs. I wish I could give you a different answer but that would be dishonest. I am not the fastest but I have learned a lot from a person who has been. The logs are hypercritical. I would pay hundreds of dollars to get the logs if it wasn't available to me like it is now.

Go ask any tuner to tune your car but tell them they can't look at the logs and they will tell you to "F@ck off". It is just that important. I really hope you reconsider your stance one day.

I’m bringing this back from the dead.

I’m researching this very topic sorry if it’s been discussed. So 91 octane may or may not be ok with map 2?

Is this accurate for 2022? So jb4 doesn’t offer a 91 octane map with basic modifications?

I have e85 in my area so I would do e30 mix or any other mix for track days. But mostly want to dd the stinger in map 2. But the I for on this jb4 is all over the place. It’s basic modifications and there’s problems at this stage..wow

It all depends on how good your 91 is. CA91 seems ok, Canadian 91 seems more like US88-89, for example.

It takes 5 minutes to generate a log, and bms is very good at responding to lig reading requests.

I have always been disappointed with map 1 or 2 on 91 octane. I recently started using E30 on map 3, and what a difference. Ran a 12.545 at the strip the other day.
