Has anyone ever rolled their finger over the headlights switch while flipping to high-beam and accidentally shut the lights off???
This happened to me twice. I often drive with my hands at the 'normal' 3-and-9; thumbs 'hooked' over the intersection of the inside of the wheel and cross-section. While flicking my left middle-finger out to push the high/low stalk outward, finger rolled over the switch cylinder, switching them all the way to off. The first time it happened, no big deal. Took a second or two to recover / switch 'em on, but it was on a well lit divided highway in very light traffic. Second time, a little hairier: morning commute in the pre-dawn dark; narrow tree-lined 2-lane where I just happened to be on a short s-curve. Oncoming car passed by, I flicked outward then, Yikes! Pitch dark at about 50mph! Pushed and held the stalk outward to force lights/high-beams on, recovered, switched 'em back on. Yes, kind of embarrassing to admit but wondering if anyone else has had it happen. I learned quickly to now push outward with my finger(s) well down the stalk.
Oh... just to add: I don't like or normally use the adaptive/auto hi/low beam feature. One of my few dislikes of the tech in this car.
